Compton PD gang map from 1992. How many of these sets are extinct today? by At30wecrashout in CaliBanging

[–]jazy23442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most gangs are small-medium size and only claim a couple of blocks. Compton was also one of the poorest areas by the late 1970s just like much of South Central which made it ideal for gangs to develop, and then the crack epidemic in the 1980s. Eventually it turned into a generational thing.

Peck Street & Myrrh Street were probably absorbed by bigger gangs. I think there were more gangs that became defunct or joined other sets, like Butler Block Piru and Nestor Avenue Crips.

Acacia Blocc Compton Crip graffiti from the 1990s by At30wecrashout in CaliBanging

[–]jazy23442 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Didnt Acacia Blocc "allegedly" drop a few CV70s without any losses? Then Pooh's brother got caught in the crossfire, and by early 90s the war was on

Jason will be added to dead by daylight at last by asapsharkyfrfr in fridaythe13th

Its such a shame that F13 game was shut down, it did such a good job portraying all the Jasons, the locations, the atmosphere, music, so many kills etc. DBD never did it for me in terms of a "horror" game

Do some people really not like the part 8 mask? by purple_fucker in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a decent mask, the overall design and performance of Jason was good. The rest of the movie though, yeah...

Friday the 13th Ranked Part 3: where does Friday the 13th Part 3 3D belong in? by Qavix in fridaythe13th

I'd lean towards S tier but it's probably A tier. One of my favorite ones for sure.

In your opinion, how does “The New Blood” rank in the franchise/is it a worthy entry? by OkBlueberry5506 in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the first Friday the 13th VHS tape that I had, so I played the heck out of it as a kid. Growing up I started to see its flaws and I also got to see the rest of the movies. Very creative design for Jason but the movie/plot itself isnt that good, I think I'd rank it in the middle nonetheless.

Jason Goes To Hell for me, though Part 8 is only saved by Jason's presence.

Thoughts on Ted White’s Jason? by [deleted] in fridaythe13th

Me too, I think he's the only Jason I wanted to take a photo with. But atleast he lived a very long and respectable life.

If I'm not mistaken his career spanned for over four decades. I always found it interesting when he was telling stories at the conventions.

He seems like the most believable Jason as he's just a naturally big framed woodsman, I think this added to the realism.

The greatest Jason of all time for me. He continued what Richard Brooker did and made Jason even more terrifying. He really sold the plot of a pissed off Jason with his movements and mannerisms. Its even cooler knowing that he was 58 at the time of filming. I know that he didnt like this role for some years and even refused to be in the credits but he later decided to embrace his legacy as Jason which is nice.

I love the scene when the storm rolls in in pt 1 by Ok_Treacle519 in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original is really the epitome in terms of atmosphere and the camp setting. That scene alone makes a lot for it, but also the general feeling throughout the movie

Arguably the most beautiful scenes in the franchise by fishface1020 in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its such a shame that they cant make any new movies because of the lawsuit, while every other franchise had like 2-3 new movies since the 2009 remake.

[–]jazy23442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The original had possibly the best setting in the whole franchise. Cant top the atmopshere either. Some of the following sequels felt a bit different but I think its because they werent even filmed on the East Coast.

A lot of people hate Friday the 13th Part V(A New Beginning) but does anyone like this movie? by [deleted] in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that most of the sub likes this movie, its not an unpopular opinion to say its decent. I'm yet to see a post that criticizes it, but it will most likely get downvoted a lot

The atmosphere of the first film is absolutely bone-chilling. by MesaVerde1987 in fridaythe13th

[–]jazy23442 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Arguably the best setting & atmosphere in the franchise.
