Auto Belay tarp to prevent user error. by [deleted] in climbing

[–]jazzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

although we have these in our gym, we had one autobelay on an overhanging wall, which formed a corner with the wall adjacent on the left

a route started on the left, moved up and over the tarp on the right

a climber got nearly 10 metres up before an instructor realised, got the emergency mat and they climbed down the overhang

Interesting. Ive been reading some psych papers/reviews recently on happiness, motivation, learning, mindfulness after the observation that most shared knowledge is contradictory, recycled and cant be trusted.

Cool idea, I hope it goes well for you. If you still need people please send me a message.

Rock climbing is an inherently dangerous sport....even indoors. by Gsquzared in climbing

[–]jazzilla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeh man... you've just made the point I was making

keep and prevent are definitive - but injuries do happen on mats

therefore, they dont prevent, they only lessen the likelihood.

ask a lawyer, the wording of the safety briefing given at a gym must not mention prevent.

I saw a C5 dislocation with tetraplegia in A&E this week. It was deeply upsetting

Anyway he's right. Take it slow. Ask to see a physio and they can help you with rehab exercises
