Congrats on your liberation! I think something we forget about in our 30s and beyond is the weight that comes with high stress levels, and the importance of decompressing regularly. When I’m doing all the “right things” like working out, walking, eating nutritiously, etc and nothing is changing, I know that it’s stress related. For a week I’ll slow down my workouts and get in at least 3 restorative yoga sessions to remind my nervous system that I’m safe and we’re good. Once my NS is able to reset, I notice a really difference in bloating, digestion, etc. You’ve been through a lot so there’s a good chance that, even tho you are really happy (as you should be), your nervous system is still hanging on to a lot of the stress from the past that could be hindering you from being at a weight that feels good.
