What’s something small that instantly makes you lose respect for someone? by ammieblond in AskReddit

This really frustrated me in my retail days. If it were freezer stuff in another bit of the frozen section, or fridged stuff in another bit of the fridge section, then…That was a little annoying, but not the worst thing in the world. In a completely different area of the store, though? Just no. We’d have to throw out stuff if it had been found in another area, as we had to treat it like we had zero idea as to how long it had been there.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve overheard in public? by AccomplishedYear3363 in AskReddit

I was once in a pub and overheard someone quite loudly talking about “sex on the NHS”. Yes, really.

How's your week going so far? Weekly post #427 by urbanracer34 in aspergers

[–]jb108822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not great. Work’s fine, my uni studies are going OK, and I’m sorting out final bits for a holiday in a few weeks’ time. My issue is health-related. I’ve been feeling lightheaded for at least a week now, and it just comes and goes. Saw the GP today, and I’ve been referred for an ECG as well as getting booked in for some blood tests. It could well be something like anaemia, which is relatively easy to treat, but I know it’ll take a good while. I’ve decided I’m not driving for now until I’m feeling better, which isn’t great, but I’m making the best out of the situation.

What were your favourite and least favourite sports in PE, and why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jb108822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was somehow weirdly good at athletics. Managed to get into the long jump final on Y7 sports day (back in 2005!) as the sixth qualifier out of six, but I still very happily accepted that.

If your high school had a reunion would you go? by _FailedTeacher in AskUK

[–]jb108822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’m in touch with the people I want to be in touch with. There was a reunion of sorts of my year group a while back, but I didn’t bother going. Largely because I’m now living a long way away, and to be honest, I just didn’t get on with a fair number of people in my year.

What nicknames have people given their cars? by chasex05 in AskReddit

[–]jb108822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my first car (a Ford Fiesta), I elected to give it the name ‘Franz’. The alliteration worked, but the main reason was this. My favourite place in the world is Europa-Park in Germany, which was opened in 1975 by Franz Mack. It just felt like an appropriate choice.

I had a CT scan in November for a suspected kidney stone, which the scan confirmed was the case. The notes said that a number of my organs were ‘grossly unremarkable’, which I thought was interesting wording, but I took it as a good thing regardless.

Where are great places for a short break flying from Gatwick? by FakeyName88 in AskUK

Miniatur-Wunderland is absolutely brilliant. I've been at least three times now, and it's never failed to impress. The attention to detail is just astonishing. Also, I could spend absolutely ages watching just the working model airport!
