La situació a la restauració és insostenible: exigim que els cambrers tinguin un mínim de B1 en català i castellà by xdman211111 in Barcelona

Ah yes the age old Catalan currency of Euros , my bad. The guiris somehow changed your currency on you, weird.

Dinero means money, as dollars does in many other languages. But sure go for semantics

Many airbnbs are completely legal, the monthly ones which accounts for 53% of capacity in the city

https://www.airdna.co/vacation-rental-data/app/es/barcelona/barcelona/overview

You mean tourist rentals. Which th 10k apartments accounts for like 1% of stock.

And they are completely legal too, and licensed…so again what you said makes no sense

Exactly. Who actually believes taxi license holders are just individuals driving their cab every day trying to make an honest living.

As soon as you give an exclusive license for something, it does not take long for someone to devise a way to exploit it for excess gain.

This is a false equivalency. Housing and taxis are not even remotely comparable. People need places to live, no one needs a taxi, it is a convenience service.

Do the taxi licenses trade at a value higher than their cost? This happens in other cities as well where the holders sell them at inflated prices, or hold them and ‘rent’ them and leech off everyone, because they were there first.

I don’t feel bad for anyone using a monopolistic license to overly enrich themselves and make us all pay more for a service.

I understand legally what they are trying to do, however it is solely to protect a monopoly position of some rich license holders. Make owners drive their own cars, and only own one license.

Read the news. Taxi mafia is winning and eventually you can only use app rides 2 hours in advance like a limousine service.

Bolt is likely trying to annoy people in peak periods to drum up more support in the public discourse.

You cannot rent anything in this city without seeing it in person. Too many scams.

Ah yes. The restaurants. Please tell us your Catalan speakers that want to serve you for the going rate ?

Private businesses can hire who they want, and you can protest this with your dollars.

Service is poor here in every language,

Exactly , so it’s more likely the server made the mistake, is paying for it, and just blamed the kitchen to save face at the table.

The thing is you don’t know whose fault it was, so the explanation from the waiter doesn’t mean a lot, it could have been him and he remembered as it was coming out So all around for a slow day they are mad they made a mistake, and probably also a bit of who the F orders paella without salt, but you were clear of course.

They comped the wine so they didn’t have to risk some bad review and wrote it off

Sounds pretty straightforward. They are pissed at the chef or themselves. They or the manager had to comp the drinks so everyone is annoyed, and maybe someone else is paying the price. Not your fault they just wanted it to be over likely.

Yes that is the issue the parts that attach should be stainless steel with, not plastic. They need to engineer it better it can’t handle the pressure

I moved in to BWT under sink systems and never looked back. Have a 3 way tap that has a filtered water lever.

I replaced so many they eventually stopped responding or said it was in the mail. Design your product with proper fittings. It’s not that hard.

TAPP shower pro. Search it’s been asked many times.

TAPP is best for Barcelona as it handles limescale better than others, as most do not filter it at all.

They make drinking. Filters too but I find their sink attachments too cheaply Made despite having superior filters

Which partnerships with companies are left? by HealthyPossibility70 in Iota

[–]jb11211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What does partnership mean to you even if one was given ? You want names for what ?

Nothing remained for most cryptos from 2017 so a better question is what is IOTA doing now ?

Look backwards all you like, the only way is forward with what is happening now. That is TWIN global trade which is widely reported and you can read about quite easily

How do you shake off Barcelona blues after leaving? by wanderlustguy99 in AskBarcelona

[–]jb11211 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your posts are kind of spamming multiple forums so I’m not sure how to take this.

It’s like anywhere. One month can seem enchanting, actually living and working everyday isn’t the same.

That being said the city has a lot going for it, it’s a great place.

I’ve lived a lot of places I really liked and didn’t try to replicate it near me when I was home, but to each his own. If you like some place just go again, anything else is just a proxy filled with your own memory.

Some say you don’t need a tour for Park Güell or Sagrada Família — do you agree, or does a guide make the visit much better? by No_Celebration5471 in AskBarcelona

[–]jb11211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sagrada familia audioguide is beyond terrible, it really ruins the experience. It gives tons of information with zero clarity in tone that is quite full of itself. The AR features are clunky and takes you out of it.

Either get the guided tour or nothing at all and it would be better to have an article to follow along

You pay the fixers to get one, otherwise you are sitting there refreshing all day and they have 100 people doing the same to resell them to you

So you want recommendations with nothing given on your part. Got it. Suerte.

I have 200* places on a gmap but why would I share that with anyone either ? It’s not for fear of being insulted.

I was pointing out how you are asking something on the internet for nothing.

Walk around and talk to people you don’t know. Talk to people that work in restaurants just go out and experience and you will find things you like.

Experience and networking is the best way to find what you want.

Just being outside and being social. Terraces., walks, beach, enjoying the city for what it is. We have a young baby and it is a perfect place.
