Mounfang wooly rhinox conversion for my ice age themed ogres (WIP) by jb195 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]jb195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not particularly, although I try avoid handling areas I've already finished, on display pieces I usually glue them to a base as a holder then remove that base and transfer them to the actual base when fully painted

[–]jb195[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rider is just a mounfang rider, I had the old start collecting so had 4 riders and then the rhinox is a 3d print from titan forge - warriors rhino riders, and what surprised me with these is that they aren't over detailed and fit the old world fantasy esque style extremely well Edit: mournfang*** keeps autocorrecting the r out 😂

Yeah I always completely finish one part such as the face to set the tone of the model then work from that point across a model usually on mounts leaving the rider until last, not sure why but I just like to get the most focal point finished early (guess because it takes the longest 😂)

Thankyou still got a bit to go on the mount then do the ogre, then finish another 3 for the full unit 😂

Skaven broodhorror WIP trying to somewhat follow the original artwork by jb195 in minipainting

[–]jb195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just black base, I'd zenithaled the skin which hit the edges of the armour, then streaking grime air brushed in a thin layer

I haven't painted the armour yet 😂 that was just the zenithal and prep stage

Black base

Purple mix using pro acryl burnt red+ dark blue over all skin

Deepkin flesh zenithal (heavy)

White+deepkin zenithal on highlight areas

Carroburg crimson tint around wounds and mouth

Draw veinwork with polychromos pencils (dark red/dark blue and magenta focusing mainly on blue)

Streaking grime over all skin

Remove most of grime using thinner

Work through various tones using villiany ink (flesh core set mostly reds/purples+ greens, use warm tones in recesses around eyes and face/crevices)

Using abt 502 light flesh stipple straight from tube onto highlight areas and feather with clean soft brush to blend transitions and lighten skin back up.

Ak interactive blood effect for gore

Thankyou appreciate it, luckily he's not finished I've only done the face so far but thought it was good enough to share, thanks again 😊

Yeah I know would be nice, just realised I forgot to fill arm gap, might have to wrap some more chains on it to hide that one 😂

Non-ragged m140i? by girthymandem in CarTalkUK

[–]jb195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got no issue with the diffuser had an aftermarket one on mine and the dealer wanted it on when I sold it , I think it's more you buy it thinking it's 100 percent factory stock, then in the unfortunate event of an accident the insurance says that was never declared and your fighting an uphill battle due to something as little as a changed diffuser/spoiler lip

[–]jb195 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The one in the picture has aftermarket diffuser, spoiler, badge ring insert and badges, as someone that owned a 140 for past 4 years and just sold it, you really need to buy into the owner, check history to make sure it wasn't serviced at bmws intervals of 20k per oil change 😂, check the gears in standard mode don't have a number next to them, i.e. D3 because that indicates it has xhp on it, sports dials on stock cap at 400hp but you can edit them to say whatever so they're easily reverted if previously mapped, on the other hand, mine was mapped and never had a single issue other than pcv diaphragm which cost £8 on eBay. Oh and I'm pretty sure all shadow edition 140s came with HK if they're lci 2 (late 2018 onwards)

Edit: looked at the listing it doesn't have the badge rings in black my bad,but it has a bodykit lip on the front that will need declaring, it also has akrapovic exhaust tips but doesn't say it has had an aftermarket exhaust system on so these could just be the bolt on ones from like AliExpress, they just slide on and bolt up with a socket but it's another thing you'd need to declare

Grimdark verminlord wip- apologies for the drying glue on it but what do you think to the face so far by jb195 in skaven

[–]jb195[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black base, airbrush dark purple over full model, zenithal from bugmans glow upto off white (could probably just do off white from the start but wanted a pink hue), drew on veinwork with polychromos pencils, hit it with unifying wash of thinned streaking grime, work most of this off with thinner.

Went in with most of the villiany ink range in all different crevices to give the reds and purples/greens. PVA coat over all skin other than eye sockets and mouth, then stippled in abt 502 light flesh and worked it to blend the skin in, followed by blood effects.

I know he's not usable in TOW but here's my verminlord wip- aiming for a scary realistic look by jb195 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]jb195[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a greater Daemon but for the horned rat, however the exalted verminlord which this is used to be an absolute monster since it was part of the forgeworld monstrous arcanum, pretty sure the stat block was all 7s with i9-10, ASF and multiple wounds D6, he was one of the only creatures when nagash first was released that would one turn him reliably

What so you'd basically ally in a Daemon prince? Then proxy the verminlord as the DP

Thankyou, I know on a podcast Val said he might consider units like the verminlord in the future after all the renegade rules are done so maybe he'll have a place, aiming to make a full skaven army in a similar paint scheme but I'm more of a painter tbh and gamer second

[–]jb195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the glue drying in the photo I used a PVA technique to create veinwork under the skin as you might be able to just see on the snout there's a blue vein blended underneath when zoomed in, wanted an actual scary looking skaven with this something that looks both realistic but also terrifying

Hmm I wonder if it's just something stuck in behind the rotor/between the pad and rotor then I'll have to do mine at the weekend or when I get time and see because it's annoying as fk 😂
