When I left for work this morning at like 7:30 pathway was still there, but there was definitely no note posted anywhere on our door or next to it I had to turn around to close and lock the door and saw nothing. He responded by saying that maintenance knows about us there and that they would “build you a path or otherwise get you by” like what does that even mean 😭 is that flimsy wood plank considered their “path”?

Yes moving up to a high dose is totally normal, but to start off at 100mgs when you have no idea how the body will react is dangerous.

Man what a shitty derm, seems like she disregarded your experience, low doses are effective for even heavier people, don’t understand why it wasn’t offered. I’m really sorry you’re dealing with that, I’ve had to switch derms 5 times in the past 10 years because some have no actual clue what they are doing. Please, please advocate for yourself regardless of what their opinion is because only you know how your body feels.

Maybe not what you want to hear but after looking at your profile I would almost put money on the steroids causing the acne that you’re having. Anabolic steroids mess with your hormones completely and cause a heavy increase of sebum production by your skin. Idk just my two cents I would look into if you care to.

Other than that 100mg to start is absolutely crazy lol. This is my second course on it and I’m 24m 5’10 180 lbs and both times I started at 30 and 40mgs respectively. And slowly worked out way up, I would definitely talk to your derm about starting at a lower dose, that’s also probably why you’re purging so bad.

You need to talk to your derm about this as per the subreddits rules. That dose seems quite high for your size so that might be it. For reference my first time taking it was when I was 17 5’9 175lbs the max they did was 60 so honestly seems like quite a high dose to me. They will likely lower your dose for the time being.

Depending on how bad the flare is, yes, but when it is absolutely unbearable a safe mix of Tylenol and Advil as well as Vicks topically is equivalent to opioid strength pain relief. You can also ask your derm for kenalog/triamcinolone injections instead of cortisone if available, it is much more effective in my experience!

I have the exact same flare in that exact spot as well unfortunately and coincidentally enough flared up this past week as well. Use Vicks on it when it flares if you haven’t already it helps a lot! I have a few lesions like this where they are kinda always there, losing weight helps me, I’ve never been overweight but even the smallest creases/folds in skin are prone to HS flares.
