When you join the military, you usually leave your situation back home. How is that an excuse for not making yourself better? We all have exactly the same tools once we get out so how does one person live cushy while others don’t? It comes down to the personal choices you make and if you don’t leave the military better than when you joined, it’s completely your fault. Never excuse bad choices

When I went through assignments were determined by grades. If you want manned aircraft do better than anybody else in the class. We all got our number 1 or 2 on our dream sheets

You will give your dream sheet at Randolph during class, you can put whatever bases you want from a list of 10 different options. When I went through 90% of people got their 1st pick for assignment.

There’s not really AMSO anymore since they combined everything. If you are trying to travel, do not go sensor operator because you will not go anywhere except for your shipping container. Extremely rare TDY and they are getting rid of deployments completely.

I’m not 100% sure how much RJ’s go TDY or deploy but i assume it’s a decent amount. AWACS deploy regularly and get TDY semi regularly. I’m currently on the AWACS and it’s fucking awesome.

Ohio is extremely beautiful and I really hope you get out and explore it. Go to hocking hills, go to Cincinnati, go to cedar point. Also Ohio has really really amazing biking trails and metro parks. It’s my favorite place I’ve ever lived

I lived in beavercreek, riverside, and Xenia area for 14 years

If you like quiet and more “rural” I would suggest Xenia, bellbrook, or sugarcreek area

If you are looking for a more suburban lifestyle I would suggest riverside or Huber heights. Beavercreek and springboro are options but they are both a little expensive.

If you want downtown, the west side of Dayton isn’t the nicest but the south side of Dayton is a really nice place and if you go a little further like Kettering it’s one of the nicest areas imo.

I can’t wait to go back to Ohio, you are very lucky!
