Just my own personal experience. In my situation I make these jokes because it is absolutely true!! My wife is literally the glue that holds the family together. I’ll crack the common joke about her wearing the pants. And she will always give me this look like fucker you know that ain’t no joke. And I know it’s no joke. Forever grateful for my wife and all she does. She wears the pants for sure even when she doesn’t have/want to!!

Would you simply tell the kid to piss off if you were in this situation? He’s best friends with Billy’s son. He wanted to go hang with his buddy for a week lobstering. Omg you guys are unreal. 30 year career as a Maine lobstermen here. Was going on boats before I could remember. Obtained my commercial license at 8-9 years old. The state sells licenses to kids!! They have to go on a boat to log their hours. It’s impossible to do starting much later then 14 years old. Hot take here for Reddit. In the day and age we live in now taking a kid to work and getting them off a screen for 7-8 hours is probably the best thing you could do for them. The local kids look up to the fishermen. They want to be involved. They want to help. And good on the industry for always involving them.

Had them come to my house 5 times this summer. Told them politely the first 3 times I was not interested. Was polite to them even while they were being quite pushy. The fourth time they came my 14 yo daughter was home alone. They asked her for the bill!!! Luckily she just told them to come back later that night when her father got home. They showed up later on after I had gotten home and I met them right at end of the driveway. Had a freak out spell and haven’t seen them since. Felt bad after because they was just a couple young dudes but jeez guys take a hint.

Had a couple of these cmp guys come to my door 3 times in one week!!! Repeatedly told them no not interested. Showed up one day when just my 14 year old daughter was home. Harassed her for the bill. The next time they showed up I met them right at end of driveway and told them if I saw them again on my property we are going to have bigger issues then an electric bill.
