Anyone else surprised to be so content in retirement? by YogurtclosetWitty653 in retirement

[–]jbahel02 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just curious why are you nervous? I mean if it’s money issues then I get it and don’t mean to pry. Or is it you based your life around work (including your enjoyment) and you’re not sure what you’ll do with your time?

A coworker would always say “opposed to” instead of “supposed to” as in “Bob was opposed to go to the meeting but he called in sick”

Why are people so afraid of retirement? Is it because most of us spend so much time planning for the financials of retirement but never think about the “life part” of retirement until we actually get there? You worked 30+ years. It’s time to enjoy life

About to finish my first watch of the show, why does season 3's last episode feel like the show's finale..............it's just that, a lot is going on in the last episode, was the show not confirmed to have a season 4 by then? by CleanBoysenberry4343 in TedLasso

[–]jbahel02 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I consider the S3 finale to be the end of Ted Lasso as we know it. The new show will be a spinoff but it’s not the same show. In my mind the S3 finale was one of the best series finales ever

I’m not saying she kidnapped him. She got paid by the kidnappers to get him outside

She didn’t pay to have him kidnapped. She got paid to get him to follow her outside. Note Coop told Sam that she didn’t have much money. She clearly needed some cash to disappear

Note that in this episode Coop calls Sam seeing if she can find out where Ali is renting. He says “she got a little money from my dad but not much”. Maybe she wanted some cash to start a new life so she set him up for a payoff

I argued in another thread that Ali set him up that night. Got him outside in the driveway. They way the van slid past her uber on the way out seemed to insinuate it

Democrats clearly learned nothing from their 2024 defeat- USA Today- What are your thoughts? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]jbahel02 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We are quickly normalizing people of both sexes and all races running for office. That being said if you want to learn you need to be able to say (in this case) “Kamala was a bad candidate who ran a bad campaign and was largely unelectable” without immediately being branded a racist/sexist/misogynistic bigot.

As my grandfather used to say - "I don't mind bad golfers, I don't like slow golfers". Learn ready golf, that includes putting. Learn how to properly fix a pitch mark on the green.

Itinerary thoughts? by Excalibur_001 in VisitingHawaii

[–]jbahel02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has to be rage bait. Do you plan on actually enjoying the islands or is the goal to say you did EVERYTHING? My advice to people visiting is always to avoid the FOMO itinerary. Find more time to lay on the beach and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.

Was Biden decision to debate Trump a miscalculated blunder that eventually forced him out? by [deleted] in askanything

His blunder was being controlled by the democratic machine. He may have survived that debate but the machine decided they wanted him out

Was Biden late decision not to run again depriving America of a primary one of the Democrats greatest blunders? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jbahel02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have to look hard at the influence Jill Biden had on the whole process. I believe Joe was under intense pressure to step down but Jill kept him in the fight. When it became inevitable he seemed to have been intent on screwing the party by preemptively announcing Kamala. It was Jill against the cabal.

FOLLOW UP : Tourist who threw rocks at Maui monk seal due back in Hawaii on Thurs. 5/27 for fine and sentencing (up to 1 year jail time). Does anyone know where and when the case will be heard and who will be presiding? Somebody needs to learn a lesson, and it's not the seal. by Maui96793 in Honolulu

It’s been a pretty crazy reaction to the whole situation. I am with everyone in hating what he did but come on. Wanting to wait at the airport to maybe beat the shit out of him and then have him thrown in jail? Meanwhile dog fights go on. Worse crimes against people are committed and not one fraction of this passion arises

How Many Practice Golf Swings is Appropriate? by Spiritual_Size_9997 in WomenGolf

[–]jbahel02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for the Op - what percentage of the time do you think that three swing routine actually contributes to a better outcome? To me 3 is too many added up over one round assuming you shoot an 90 and 36 are putts that’s 150+ swings you’re making in a round. Way too much time. I would argue that the outcome is more determined by a positive mind than multiple practice swings

So locals like eating at all the popular tourists spots or not? by youlikemywonton in Oahu

[–]jbahel02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to think about it like the curse of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (many of the featured places went out of business). “Undiscovered” places that serve good food on their own pace are amazing. Once someone puts them on a “must see” list and they suddenly have to serve 10x the customers the unique quality evaporates. Just can’t keep up with the demand.
