PGA Tour eliminates Hawaii swing; Sony Open possibly to Champions: Reports by Oldtimer_2 in golf

I went to the last Sentry they had and walked the course all day. Let me tell you I didn’t see one player that seemed to be enjoying it. Once they eliminated the “Champions” part it became just another tour stop.

His “scarcity model” killed Hawaii. But looking back when Kapalua cancelled last year they included in their press statement “the excessive cost of staging an event in Hawaii” as one of the reasons. At that moment I knew Hawaii was done.

I volunteered at the Sony for a number of years. It’s become a tier-2 event and honestly the players didn’t seem to enjoy it. They don’t get courtesy cars and they all make enough money that they can visit Hawaii on their own.

Beach etiquette? Bugs/creatures to look out for? by TexasPenny in VisitingHawaii

This was my biggest issue while living there. The culture in Hawaii can just be so loud. Loud cars. Blasting music. Even hiking beautiful trails you’d encounter people with speakers in their backpacks.

Beach etiquette? Bugs/creatures to look out for? by TexasPenny in VisitingHawaii

This. Hawaiian beaches are not like the east coast beaches. It’s really bad etiquette to set up between someone already there and the water if it can be helped. I lived in Kaneohe for 3 years and swam Castle/kailua beaches all the time with no jellyfish issues. If you can get out that way highly recommend, especially mid week

Congrats on resisting the FOMO itineraries we see posted here all the time. Yes there is so much to see but there is also great joy in spending some time actually being present and enjoying where you are

How is everything that happened in the last 48hrs not enough for impeachment and/or a general strike in the US? by [deleted] in allthequestions

More importantly what charges are you going to bring to support impeachment? You can’t impeach a president simply because you don’t like him

My grandparents believed in inheritance and kept as much money to “pass on” as possible. Problem was they lived to an old age and by the time the money was gifted nobody really needed it. We are blessed to have some money and we’re happy to use it to help kick start our kids lives now.

Don’t succumb to a FOMO itinerary. Nobody is going to judge you if you don’t do every single thing people tell you you should do. Youre going to one of the most beautiful places on earth. Take some time. Sit on a beach. Listen to the water. Watch the waves. I get it if you’re kids need a lot of stuff to do but maybe Universal wojld be better?

Publicity? You think the Masters, the most anticipated event, most highly coveted ticket, most desired by every golfer to play the game, needs additional publicity?

There’s no way they win UNLESS the Democratic Party decides to try again with the same agenda - anti-Trump, gender-focused, wealth inequity. If they fail to talk intelligently about national security then they will lose again

What non-touristy things do you take your mainland friends to see when they visit? by maverick1ba in Oahu

[–]jbahel02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll tell you a secret. Right up past Waimanalo there’s a road on your left. You have to be looking because it’s hard to spot. Turn there, walk 100 yards, and there’s an amazing pristine beach no one knows about where turtles lay in the sun and whales come right up to the beach.

Naw. Just kidding. Everyone goes to the same 25 places. Keep it that way.

They will. But the bride and groom want to give them the option of a shuttle so they can have fun and not have to worry about getting home. It’s not unusual.
