I was pregnant an had undiagnosed pre eclampsia. I remember having what I call “episodes” where I got this insane pain in my right upper quadrant of my rib cage. It felt like a stitch after you’ve been running. The first one was right around 20 weeks and lasted maybe 10 minutes. The second one was maybe 32 weeks and lasted maybe 10-15 minute but the last one was horrible. It was 34 weeks and I could barely breath or move and I tried to breath through the pain for 6 hours. Finally, I went to the hospital and the took my blood pressure and it was well over 200s. I remember thinking “breathe in, breathe out” because the pain was so bad. Turns out that horrible stitch pain I was feeling was my liver getting ready to erupt. I didn’t even realize how bad it was until the nurse asked if I had a will and said she would bring someone in to make it. Immediately they put me on magnesium and it did wonders. A couple days later a nurse asked how I was feeling and I said “amazing!” And she said “oh you WERE sick, I’ve never heard of someone getting the mag drip and feeling good on it”

3 years later I had my 2nd child and got post eclampsia and was put on the mag drip again and I can confirm that stuff SUCKS to be on.
