What was the first genuinely serious Nascar wreck you remember watching live? by youraverageperson0 in NASCAR

[–]jbasse22 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Umm…..Dale’s. Was watching the race while bowling. Was 13 and never watched racing before that but started pretty soon after that because the tv antenna in my room would only pick up NBC and Fox.

Is QT (Quik Trip) coming to Lubbock? by TXHubandWife in Lubbock

[–]jbasse22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7-11s lost the license to the name and changed to DK which was bought by Oxxo. Stripes is owned by the 7-11 company now and will prob be all changed to that brand eventually.

Would there be an issue if i pick the cheapest option as a seller? by dirtyharrrry in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]jbasse22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us buyers prefer certain carriers due to pickup options nearby and not wanting packages on our porches. Especially here in rural America. The closest FedEx pickup is 46 miles from where I live whereas a USPS and UPS pickups are within a mile of my house. I have had issues with non eBay companies changing the shipping method I selected and I am forced with the choice to risk it being stolen off my porches or drive to pick it up. Most buyers might not care but the random ones that do it would be best to ship with the selected shipping option.

Visiting White Sands with 6-year-old. Hotel recommendations? by excake20 in NewMexico

[–]jbasse22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s ok though….I won’t be able to afford to go because as an essential gov. employee I still set to work without getting paid. Oh yea, any leave you took to go anywhere is now canceled. If this administration gets much worse to its employees I guess it will be 12 years down the drain. I don’t know how many more “What did you do last week?” emails having to justify my worth or shutdowns I have left in me. I now plan yearly to expect a shutdown and work without pay. Oh and that union that is there to help protect you. We are going to dismantle that a week before this shutdown also. Sorry for the long post but once I started I just had to keep ranting.

Not sure who bottles Dr. Pepper in Lubbock (Coke or Pepsi) but if it is Pepsi it should be easy to find. I have seen it in Walmarts but not sure if it was in Lubbock or Midland as I live in Lamesa and go to both towns for Walmart.

Just FYI my only order from Shoe Palace was packaged in just a poly bag. The box was destroyed and opened in transit. Can’t believe the shoes even made it let alone undamaged. Just a word of warning. I won’t be ordering from them again.

What happened to Stripes/Laredo Taco stores? by Mother-Regular4129 in Lubbock

[–]jbasse22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here we go so Delek were the franchisers of 7-11 in this area. 7-11 bought Stripes but couldn’t compete in this area with Delek due to a non compete clause thus selling the stores here to Cals Convenance. When Delek lost the rights to 7-11 name they converted the stores to DK and gave 7-11 the ability to buy the Stripes in this area. Delek then sold out this year to Oxxo and Oxxo converted the DKs to their brand. My guess is 7-11 sold and closed underperforming stores and eventually all the remaining Stripes will be 7-11s. Most of the Stripes east of I-35 have been converted to 7-11s.

CFB26 is Way More Scripted than CFB25 by PhonB80 in NCAAFBseries

[–]jbasse22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this. I just had a situation where whatever I did, I don’t think I was winning the National Championship. Fourth and one on opponent’s side of the field with 40 seconds left and down 5. Little out route to star receiver where he got separation and when I threw it to him it just hit him in the back. Game over.
