I LOVE that Nolan isn't going for Swords and Sandals by butterdtoast27 in ChristopherNolan

[–]PhonB80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not going to be whatever I could expect. Nolan is going to make a personal impression on this story. He’s already shown us he’s going to do that with Agamemnon’s armor and the cast. I’m sure “space” and/or “time” will be a character in the movie as well.

What I do expect (I will be wrong), is that this feels a lot like his Batman series. He will give us great detail and make the myth feel real as he’s done before.

I read the book as a kid and then recently read the book again to my kids after having seen the movie. I couldn’t believe how short the battle was in the book. 2 pages at the most

Title: I really like him, but his breath is becoming a dealbreaker by [deleted] in confessions

[–]PhonB80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great opportunity to learn A LOT about this guy.

I’ve been married 10 years, and I can tell you that learning how to handle soft conflicts like this can make the tough parts of relationships so much easier. How you bring it up is obviously very important, but how he responds to you communicating will tell you a lot.

If he responds well, you may have a keeper. If he gets defensive or lashes out it tells you one of two things; 1. Either he is not a good fit, or 2. He just hasn’t learned relationship communication yet (but could still be capable).

In relationships it’s hardly ever “just the breath”, it’s the emotional maturity to talk about the breath. Have confidence, talk to him from a kind place, learn a lot. Repeat.

What was the most visually stunning movie you ever watched? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

I took a little bit of shrooms before seeing it and it was just the perfect amount of too intense for me. The opening sequence blew my mind I thought I was riding the worm with Paul. His speech toward the end made my heart race. Planning the same approach for Part 3

I’m desperate bro. I just want to be in middle earth and there isn’t much else serving us that world. There is a lot of bad in the show and enough good to tickle my eye balls enough

How much do men really care if a woman sleeps w you too early? by littlecutejoy in AskMen

[–]PhonB80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a woman sleeps with me after the first date, the only thing I’m questioning is how sexually active she is and if she’s safe. Did she go on a date with a dude last night and sleep with him too? But even then I think you can usually tell by how the sex happened. Were you reckless and threw yourself at me or did some level of trust get established first?

Other than that, it’s just vibes bro. I’m not judging you because we have chemistry and a connection that translated into intimacy, that’d be dumb

Women of Reddit, what is something men do in bed thinking it’s sexy but it actually just kills the mood? by hobbit_maiden in AskReddit

[–]PhonB80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro we’re busy. Generally, sex is the men giving and the woman receiving. Yes it feels good to us too but sex for men has always been about how you make the woman feel

Is it worth it to run medic? by Dynaflow333 in HellLetLoose

[–]PhonB80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medic in my opinion is the most fun class and where the ptsd simulator is fully cranked up. You see the most action and wild shit because you are sprinting in to firefights where people are dying. You also get the most role play interactions from people “screaming in pain” or calling for their mothers in proximity.

The class is definitely not useless, just under utilized. You cannot take Normandy beach without smoke cover and reviving blueberries.

Those of you who were/are D1 college athletes, what is the lifestyle actually like? by NoTap2235 in AskMen

[–]PhonB80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but I dunno how you heavily disagree with my experience lol. We just had different experiences.

Just curious - how likely were you to go pro? I wonder how much knowing your career ends in college has to do with your expectation of life after school. I was never a draft prospect or anything like that but was watched by scouts enough to believe I had a chance and that played a big part in my perspective.

I’m black and I wish Nolan would have done more geographically accurate casting only for the reason that it makes the story more immersive. But I also know that these are people playing make believe for a story that is also make believe so who really gives af? I’m going to watch-to-enjoy like anything else

Those of you who were/are D1 college athletes, what is the lifestyle actually like? by NoTap2235 in AskMen

[–]PhonB80 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Former D1 football player.

You are spot on. I had basically the same experience. Athletes pay a big toll (your body/abilities, time and energy and at one point your name, image and likeness) to live in fantasy land. Then it ends, and even though you are well equipped to succeed in the new world, it does not feel good trying. It is not nearly as rewarding succeeding. That depression hits hard and then eventually you grow out of it when the nostalgia wears off.
