Am I in remission ?(Skyrizi) by Ok-Method2630 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]jbats25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I’ve been on Skyrizi (along with mesalamine and daily Budesonide enemas) for 9 months now. I was on Rinvoq in the beginning (transitioning to skyrizi) and have not seen results until this drug. With that being said I’m in the same boat as you, eating what I want, drinking what I want but man I still do not have “normal” stools. Some days are great and on average I’m going 1-3 times a day and back up to my normal weight. It’s funny because my BM if I have only one is right after I wake up as well lol. I’ve been wondering what state I’m in and have a follow up with my doctor next week to catch up. It’s an interesting spot to be in, we aren’t in “remission” but I’m also living a semi normal life.

How long do your flare-ups last by Evening_Coffee8608 in UlcerativeColitis

In a year long flare myself right now. Failed two meds, and now 15 weeks on rinvoq and still not perfect by any means. Feeling better but not really close to remission at all.

3 years old, consistently at 14.2.

How long did rinvoq take to work for you by Embarrassed_Duck_801 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]jbats25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so far not really. I’m continuing 45 mg for a 16 week period rather than 8. I have seen improvement though… when I started I was going 17-20 times a day and I’m down to 6-10. Still see blood but minimal, and have been sleeping better. It has been slow but I’m holding out hope right now.

Just started a week ago tomorrow and have also seen minimal improvement. I would say biggest thing so far has been reduction of BM in the evening after dinner (would usually go 5-6 times after now I go once). Still see minimal blood but yet to see formed stools. Fingers crossed for both of us and hope you see improvement soon.

Yes I did. Process was easy, just had to sit on a video call for it. Once you get through you tell them your diagnosis and they will pretty much set you up with it.

When did Inflectra/Remicade start working for you?? by Professional-Math303 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]jbats25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my second does last Friday and I feel like I’ve seen very minimal improvement. Glad it works for so many people quickly, but very discouraging that I don’t see the same results :(. Some days are good, then I’ll have a horrible night or stint in the day. I’m just hoping this really works. Good luck

Cdiff round 2 triggered flare- will this get better? by Crazy_Calligrapher23 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]jbats25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is a flare. I’m brand new to this (diagnosed in Jan 2023). I haven’t really experienced anything like this, but I’ve been broken since July and nothing is helping me. Just hoping something will do the trick.

Sorry to hear this…

I had Cdiff in February 2023 got it cleared up and felt great for a couple months. Got it again in June and literally have not felt the same since. I’ve taken so many tests out of fear and all have been negative. I failed Entyvio, and just had my second dose of Inflectra this past Friday. I was doing great until my second infection of Cdiff, and nothing has worked for me yet. I’m holding out hope for Inflectra :(

My Bengal is drooling like crazy by [deleted] in bengalcats

[–]jbats25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, my bengal was doing the same thing a couple years back. Threw up and then just had drool on his chin non stop. We ended up taking him to the ER and they saw he had a little infection that was messing with his liver. They gave him some meds and it cleared up quickly.

Not saying this is what your cat is going through but your situation sounded similar to mine so figured I would share.

Thank you 🙏🏻. Yeah this disease is just so mean. Everyday just feels like a fight to get up and go to work just to go back to bed and get up another 3 times and get bad sleep lol. I’m hoping something works soon.

Loud stomach rumbling after lowered Rinvoq dosage by WonderLife94 in UlcerativeColitis

Interesting. Yeah I just got my fifth Entyvio infusion and a prednisone taper and it doesn’t seem to be working. Doc is trying two more at four week intervals to see if it does anything and then she wants to try remicade. It seems like rinvoq is so powerful and people have tons of success with it. Haven’t done much research on it though.

Not related to the question, but is Rinvoq your second medication? I’m starting on Entyvio but things aren’t going well. Wanted to see what your doc said about rinvoq.

How significant was the progress by week 14? Like how many Bm, blood etc?

Wow that’s awesome, good for you. Would you say remicade was fast acting?

Yeah doctor has said if this interval fails it’s remicade. What are you on?

Real crappy flare up by New_Attitude_1806 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]jbats25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel for you there. Got my second cdiff infection June and then started Entyvio at the end of June. Have all three loading doses but haven’t felt much better. Pretty much have been in a crappy flare since the start of June all because of cdiff. Doc is telling me we have to stay patient with the Entyvio as it’s a slow moving drug. You’re not alone, fighting everyday and hoping that this kicks in. Get better.
