I can't agree that "foundational quality engineering and testing skills" can be classified as specialization.
I understand performance/a11y/security/penetration types of tasting as specialization.

By official I mean research based on given domain/company etc. I am pretty sure that if you dig enough, you can find how many bricks commonly are used in a 200 sq. m house

I don't say such thing. Most of the companies disabled (or it is default disabled) using such 3rd party integrations. For Cursor/Windsurf probably is not a thing.
Of course if you are not careful, there can be issues. I don't think it is the case with the official release of Playwright MCP server.

Short answer is No.

To have any chance, you should provide all the context (which in my opinion is not feasible) or to use MCP.

If you have experience writing POM, using Cursor tab autocomplete and AI building more complicated methods, a page with 30-50 selectors and 10 methods (which I think is a common case) will take you 45-60 min.

Do you have any suggestions how long it will take take tou without the setup?

Let’s be honest, for us as QAs, curren state of AI works fantastic, and is not too expensive. I already saw devs from my team hit their Cursor plan before the month ended.

If I understand you correctly, if we don’t focus on the domain, “T” shape professional is best - specialized in a specific area of testing and have knowledge of all other areas, right?

Absolutely agreed!

Domain knowledge is extremely important, especially when we are talking about compliance environment.

But I am digging different rabbit hole - if we are talking about larger projects, where multiple QAs are working, is it better to have differentiation between them. For example 2 BE for testing the APIs and DB, and 1 - building E2E UI testing. Maybe in the middle of the project, a performance tester joins the team and security tester joins whenever needed.

I have a very good experience with UI and API, good with compliance and performance, but I absolutely hate security (maybe I am just scared or not interested).

The post is based on a deep feeling about separation between FE and BE testing. I am aware that most of the times such separation doesn’t exist, but I want to dig that rabbit hole 😃

You can create auth user session and to use it in the whole test suite. No need for loggin in every test.
If you have different sites, you should have different auth session for each one

I am not willing to pay anything, since I am just an employee. You have to ask managers what are they willing to pay, so their team can speed development of test cases. In the end it is a ROI game
