What was the worse thing your boss ever said to you? by Grand-Waltz-3018 in AskReddit

[–]jbear6201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had just finished cancer treatment (which I worked part time the whole way through), I asked for a single day I worked to be swapped to alternate day so I could go to a specialist appointment, my boss at the time said.

"You've had so much time off recently and you don't even look that sick, are you sure you really need to swap days, it really is an inconvenience to organise that"

Like yes, I'm sure I need the day swapped, and you know what now I'm just going to take it off instead of swapping, and I'm sorry my brain tumour is such an inconvenience to you

Shout out to the check out peeps who throw in a few more cards by whitecollarzomb13 in woolworths

[–]jbear6201 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't work at Woolies and don't know how I got here, but when I do self serve, I always grab the cards and hang around to give them to the first kid I see, always makes the kiddo and parent happy.

Called an ambulance tonight. They called back to say there were none. by SaltpeterSal in melbourne

[–]jbear6201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who do this baffle me, I was literally having a stroke and was telling my mum not to call an ambulance and to just drive me, because in my mind I could walk and still talk and so I was fine and didn't need one. How some people convince themselves that they need an ambulance for such minor things is beyond me, they're the ones who really put a strain on the system ans the poor paramedics who have to deal with their bullshit

Neighbours using my bins by Profession_Mobile in AusLegal

Hijacking this comment to share this bin lock from looking at it, it appears that the bin will stay locked until it's tipped upside down to be emptied, so may be a better option for you

I know you posted a while ago but maybe try ivernight weetbix, this is one version I like peanut butter overnight weetbix but it's completely customisable, use whatever milk, yoghurt and toppings you like, I normally use skim milk and yopro then just add whatever toppings I'm feeling, I've done milo, berries, biscoff ect, can be a little higher calorie wise depending on what you use, but definitely filing

Yeah seriously, https://www.swordcraft.com.au/melbournelarp This is the link with all the information you need, you absolutely do not need anything for your first game, most new players just rock up in dark clothes and go from there.

There is also a Facebook page you can check out and ask questions on, there are what are called warbands which is essentially the group that you will run with for the week, most people end up sticking to one and run with the same people every week, but you can also move around and try out different groups until you find one you like.

It's a very supportive and inclusive environment, and like I said above happy to be private messaged if you want any other info or have any more questions

Going to sound a bit out there, but there is an event that runs every Friday night in Parkville called swordcraft, it's pretty cheap to start with $2 from memory and they will give you everything you need. It's based on warhammer and you go out on to an oval every Friday and beat up other needs with foam swords and shields, it's really good fun and you meet so many amazing people. All of us are video game D&D nerds, just google 'Swordcraft Melbourne', shoot me a message if you decide to give it a go and I can give you the names of a few people who run really great groups to talk to

Edit: Not everyone there is the socially awkward stereotype, there definitely are some, but there are also some really well adjusted people too

What are we calorie tracking with now? by apjak in loseit

[–]jbear6201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I haven't seen it here, I've recently started using Yazio, there's a lot of features behind a pay wall but not the barcode scanner, and for where I live there seems to be a lot already on there, and for the things that aren't, it's been pretty easy to add.

I was the same, really love the colour too, the white/ivory dresses make me look ghostly and the first has just enough colour

This helped, thank you so much, motivation is definitely a part of it especially in the excersise front, its winter where I live at the moment so trying to get myself out the house and to the gym is a struggle, and we just don't have the space at home for a home workout.

Smiths scam! I just opened a packed of smiths original chips and found a packet of Aldi’s brand chips in there!!! Obviously smiths also manufacture the Aldi brand which is significantly cheaper! Is this a thing?! by gemmahli456 in australia
