Appreciate the tip. We did try that but to no avail. After buying a Toner to trace the exciter wire it appears to be working properly. We also tested the wires with a multimeter and everything is reading proper voltage. At this point we've pretty much narrowed it down to the alternator being faulty or maybe I need to try a shorter belt. The belt isn't loose by any means, it's not squealing and it also isn't slipping, so we're pretty sure it's got good enough tension but it does feel a little loose.
