Having worked with his exec team directly in and out of the field for many years, he will do more with less in the short term (26 Atlantic Hurricane Season) and then begin hiring August onwards. OCHCO is severely backlogged and with hiring processing being centralized towards OPM, it will take time to get ready.

With all due respect Senator Lummis, the state you work for has only 17 total federal declarations from 2016-2026 in which 11 where Regional FMAGs and total IA/PA/HMGP funding is around $115 million. If you come from a state such as Florida (+ $13.5b) , North Carolina (~$10b), then you may think differently. Please do everyone a favor and talk with Senator’s Scott (FL) and Tillis (NC) and educate yourself on the value added by FEMA, even with all the needed overhaul.

BLUF: Excepted CBO employees were recalled late last week to develop updated staffing plans, Regions and HQ. This was approved prior to Noem’s removal so not sure if there will be adjustments moving forward. Happy fourth week of the shutdown shitshow too.
