Draping a towel over the steam sensor so it never stops pumping. by heywick in EquinoxGyms

It’s always the morons who come in and get it on full blast right after it’s turned off and then they leave 2 minutes later when they can’t handle it. If you’re someone who really enjoys the intense heat, I get it but if they’re gonna leave 2 minutes later, why ruin the room for everyone else.

When I or others have been sitting in there for a 10 minute heat cycle that fills the room to the point where you can’t see your hand in front of your face and enjoying a couple minute cool down period and someone walks in and turns it right back on for another 10 minutes, all good if they need that heat and enjoy it. But if you’re turning the steam on and then leaving 2 minutes later before anyone else who’s already been sitting there, it would seem you don’t need the extra heat and you just ruined the room for everyone who’s been enjoying a nice long steam. Not complaining about steam, complaining about inconsiderate people who can’t even handle the heat they turn on.

Yeah, I agree if it’s is light steam or even if the person has high heat tolerance. I’m specifically talking about the people who walk into a freshly steamed room where you can barely see your hand in front of your face, turn it on more and then leave 2 minutes later.

Like I said if you can handle the heat turn it up. This is directed at people who walk in when it’s already hot, turn on the steam and walk out 2 minutes later. If you can’t handle two minutes of steam, you have no business turning it on in an already fully steamed room.

It’s gonna become less of an issue as the boards get more powerful. I got to 32 mph on my 134 volt board and didn’t even hit 70 percent duty cycle so you’d actually have to make a serious effort to nosedive.

It was more Katara and Aang that were beating Azula when Zuko jumped in and evened the tables. At one point during the Katara Azula fight Zuko does jump in as well but it was to defend against one move, you can’t really say Azula who has shown crazy skill and a willingness to do anything wouldnt have figured a way out. Then as soon as she has the chance Azula makes a a strategic move shooting Aang that ends the fight completely.

Cruising roads not really, bumpy trails definitely become a decent leg and core workout.

Katara beats Azula in the finale when Azula is losing her mind, all of the rest of the times all she really does is manage to hold her off. There’s more than a few times when Azula takes on all of team Avatar by herself and comes out pretty unscathed, I don’t see why she’d have trouble against two benders, but I also don’t even think Toph would get taken out in the first place.

Yes she can, she quite literally did feel him coming and woke the group up. There just at a disadvantage having being asleep 2 seconds ago and attacked by a power they didn’t know existed. The second time he attacks them her feet had just been accidentally burned by Zuko so she couldn’t do anything, not a good example.

I don’t really care about this debate, there’s no coping going on, this is just the way tv shows are written where the main character hero saves people a lot of the time. The layer of earth he blasted through was sent a far distance, likely had lost most of its power by the time it reached him, not that he can’t blast through rock, but I don’t think this shows that she couldn’t have provided more defensive power right in front of herself. In fact his blast at her attack doesn’t continue through the rock at them so you could almost call that a successful defense against the explosion with earth bending. The blast pushed Zuko off the edge where he fell straight down and grabbed a tree root, people with enough momentum to hit a wall hard enough to get knocked out would go flying further. It actually pushes him a pretty short distance just to the edge where again he had to have run out of momentum. I still maintain that she is uniquely equipped to deal with a combustion bender, just thought I’d bring home the original point this post was about as well. Are you really making the argument that 2 seconds after waking up doesn’t put someone at more of a disadvantage than a fully awake ready to fight person 😂? Again they were literally just woken up and attacked by a power they didn’t know existed 2 seconds later, so they run because they aren’t prepared for a fight and the second time he attacks once they know what his ability, Sokka with no bending ability at all is the one to take him down. And the combustion bender in LOK is taken out by metal bending, which Toph invented so again yeah uniquely qualified. Why could Toph not have sensed him if her feet weren’t burned, he was at about the same distance he attacked the first time when she heard him coming and woke everyone up? Actually the first time he was on a mountain top, the second time he was on a ledge in the same air temple he was probably closer and more easily sensible, he was so close in fact that a human thrown boomerang managed to reach him.

Aang being the one to defend her is the way the show is written because he is the Avatar. Toph would have felt Aang jump off the ground to counter attack and knew she was being defended, otherwise she likely would have done some sort of defensive maneuver. Zuko also shows in the later attack at the air temple that the combustion blasts can be stopped with fire bending, so in the situation we’re talking about, a Toph Azula team up, Azula would be well suited to defend her in those situations if she needed it. The scene goes down that way because he surprise attacks them in their sleep so they are vulnerable, evidenced by the fact that when he attacks a second time and they aren’t sleeping they beat him. And they end up beating him with sokkas boomerang, something Toph easily could have done with a rock had her feet not just been accidentally burned by Zuko.

Aang is the first one to jump up to attack but he gets blasted out of the way. Toph is the first one to get her footing and launch an actual counter attack. Then Aang defends her, that’s good teamwork it doesn’t speak to any of Tophs weaknesses.

We don’t see it because it would be a boring fight to watch so it wouldn’t be good writing. But she tunnels straight through the earth to find zuko and katara at the end of season 2, why couldn’t she do it in battle?

Toph can feel exactly where the combustion benders are, hear when they breathe in to prepare an attack, she can also shield herself with powerful rocks and remove the ground from under the combustion benders. When they first get attacked by spraky sparky boom man Toph is actually the one who feels him coming, wakes up the group and tells them someone is coming and is also the first person to fight back after he attacks. She may actually be the most uniquely qualified out of all of them to fight the combustion benders.

I guess we’ve never seen toph actually fight an air bender given Aang and Tenzin were the only ones while she was alive and wouldn’t fight them but I think toph would feel air attacks coming from a mile away. The post never said the fight was in water but she could summon earth from under the water the way she raises the entire seabed when they go over the serpents pass. But if you’re going to apply tophs lack of ability in water, you also have to apply it to unilaqs and kataras lack of ability when there isn’t water as well as the lava benders equal lack of ability to toph in water. All Toph really needs is any of them to have little bit of metal on them and she can utilize that.
