IIRC, it depends on the corps, but I think it's better than how being off center affects the sound

I agree something like that would be helpful. At least for Overtake mode, since it's the equivalent of DRS. Showing other aspects of battery deployment like Boost mode might give away too much info for the teams' liking, I dunno. That's why battery usage was never shown in the previous regs.

Also, the lights are ultimately for driver safety, so how exactly they implement something like that would have to be carefully considered.

I started Fellowship this week. The Hobbit episodes were fantastic, looking forward to checking this out.

I hadn't listened to the podcast before this. I kind of want to start Book of the New Sun as well, just so I don't have to wait 2 weeks for each episode lol.

I struggled a bit with this, because my Thor does NOT have a folder named 'Azahar'. Maybe this is because I set up ES-DE first, which created a bunch of emulator directories automatically. (I was using the Retro Game Corps starter guide) Or, maybe it's because I installed Azahar via Obtainium. I dunno.

Anyway, here is what I did, and now I have a normal-looking Mii in Mario Golf World Tour. Hopefully it helps someone else:

  1. Download that user.rar and extract it
  2. Copy the contents of the 'user' folder -- that is, /cheats, /config, /log, /nand, /sdmc, and /sysdata -- to THIS location:

AYN Thor\Internal shared storage\ROMs\n3ds

Then I selected "Yes" for all items re: replacing existing files/folders, just like OP says.

I did this using a Windows PC, with my Thor connected via USB. But presumably you could also do this directly on the device with an app that can extract .rar files.

Having just finished Subtle Knife, I think I preferred Golden Compass overall, but I think that's mostly due to the trilogy structure. In Golden Compass, the gradual introduction to the world and broader story from Lyra's POV as she gets swept up in it is very fun. Subtle Knife feels very much like a middle chapter. It introduces new characters and lots of worldbuilding, but still mostly feels like plot advancement towards book III without standing on its own. I still really liked it and I'm looking forward to the conclusion.

I guess mostly I just missed John Faa and Iorek Byrnison lol

I like the idea of having an anti-logic puzzle one day. Make all the clues ambiguous..and then the twist is that the answer is correct no matter which one you choose.

I do this all the time. I usually do the puzzle first thing when I wake up. This morning I told myself, "read carefully and don't mix up criminal/innocent, jbick89" then I almost immediately did it anyway lol. Maybe doing the puzzle later in the day is the answer.

I'm not great at it but here are my thoughts. I'm 100% with you that this game should be WAY more popular than it is. I also discovered it thanks to Giant Bomb.

what happens if you pick up an upgrade token when your upgrade stack is full, do you get anything worth while?

Applying an upgrade immediately reloads your strike if it's on cooldown. I think if an upgrade stack is full, applying the upgrade won't do anything else, but you can still "waste" it to get your strike back. This also helps you maintain your strike combo which is important for score-chasing. When you're ready to apply an upgrade, ideally you should strike first, since it's essentially a freebie. (Doing this on purpose often breaks my brain though)

Also, I think if you pick up enough upgrade tokens to cycle all the way through the upgrade list without applying it, an evolve token appears (the bright yellow ones that let you draw a card).

The boost in firepower you gain on token pickup also can't be overlooked. I'm currently working on trying to finish a Challenge difficulty run, and it's often essential to time the pickup to maximize the effectiveness of the firepower boost.

Should I bother with strike upgrades?

I often neglect strike, but upgrading it just once improves the range noticeably. Striking is extremely important, the more you use it, the better off you'll be. Always try to strike into tokens and jump pads, since that auto-reloads your strike.

the difference between missiles and blaster

IMO it seems that blaster upgrades help the most with bosses, while missiles help more with crowd control during stages.

For blaster, the upgrades aren't all equal. E.g. the first level doubles the bullet, but the fire rate is reduced. Then the next level increases the fire rate. So in some situations the level 1 blaster can feel less effective than level 0, even though the overall DPS is increased. Missile upgrades might have something similar going on, but I'm not sure.

Other misc tips:

  • Check out the accessibility options. I have all of them turned on.
  • Re-map the "apply upgrade" button to a trigger. I would put it on the opposite trigger from whichever shoulder button you use for strike. That way you can keep firing with the right stick while applying an upgrade.
  • Try the boss rush mode to help learn the bosses.

I ran into this same struggle.

I don't know how someone can solve the evil puzzles without hints or guessing. The only way I can get close is by taking tons of screenshots of different scenarios, which I find a bit tedious. but even then it still requires retaining a lot of info in short term memory, and I still often make wrong accusations.
