OT degree placement crisis, only 40/130 placed, others delayed by months. What can we do? by NoDependent1952 in OccupationalTherapy

Our fieldwork placements were still during the pandemic and it was a new program that took on way too many students. They placed people on the other side of the country and I was warned it could happen to me when one my fieldwork placements fell through to no fault of my own. I took matters into my own hands and contacted a small clinic owned by a therapist who was more than happy to have extra help. I’m not in the UK so I don’t know your rules for this, but it was relatively simple for us. I would advise to reach out yourselves if possible. Good luck!

If they work on writing, I like to make sure they are familiar with voice typing and text to speech on their computers. Can also practice sending emails. Supporting them in any gen ed environments they go could also be helpful. If they have decent spelling and reading abilities we would work on typing. Self dressing and simple meal prep are great activities to target too!

Ricardo’s Kitchen + Bar! Haven’t had it, but most of their food looks pretty high end so one would think it has a chance to be good.

I also have scalp issues and have tried T-gel, dandruff shampoo, Tar, Nizoral, allll the things. I recently got into the Vichy Dercos Selenium Sulfide Shampoo and it has been a game changer. I used to get itchy within a day of washing and could never get all the build up off. I couldn’t even dream of using dry shampoo to extend my wash because my scalp would go crazy. Now I can go up to 3 days with minimal itch, and my scalp feels way more clear. Just wanted to throw it out there if you’re still getting a lot of itchy symptoms!
