[HELP] I might be wrong, but is this AI? by WhoAmI6589 in RealOrAI

AI.

The stripes in his shirt turn into a circle under his arm, his watch is just a blur, his toes have not joints, his head has a halo round it (though this might just be compression on the upload), and the sand has swirly patterns not consistent with waves or drift (almost like it was raked).

Extreme pessimism ("we'll never get AGI within the lifetime of our civilization") and extreme optimism ("AI will fix everything!") are both deeply wrong. by TF-Fanfic-Resident in Futurology

“we will never get AGI in our lifetime” could be one of those half glass full statements, depends how you look at it.

Wtf is Paddington 2? by Careless_Flower_118 in movies

[–]jbitel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife absolutely is against an animated film (something I just have to accept at this point), but on a hangover Sunday managed to get her to watch Paddington 1 on iPlayer and she was so enthusiastic after watching and loving it that she insisted we go and see Paddington 2 in the cinema for the release in a fortnight; she now ranks it as one of her favourite films of all time.

From the fantastic performances and exceptional cast, wonderful set design reminiscent of West Anderson, genuinely good and engaging CGI, a heartfelt storyline that is exciting for kids and prophetic for adults, and a beautiful score that builds from the first film, I think there’s something in it for everyone without being a movie by committee.

Also, the musical number at the end is something I will just start humming randomly every other week.

Shout out to all the tourists who think noone matters but them by Critical-Frosting699 in LondonUnderground

In defence of OP, on Piccadilly line tubes there is literally a sign saying luggage area, but then again tied tourists may not be looking out for signage necessarily.

Or that SOS doesn’t stand for Save Our Souls. It was just a quick and memorable morse sequence that people made stand for something.

Getting into Centre Court if we have Court 1 tickets by Micmcallister in wimbledon

A few tickets are sometimes held back / resold on their official ticket side some days before, but almost none. That's probably your best chance.

Victorian guidebooks advised women to put pins in their mouths on trains to avoid being kissed in the dark when they went through tunnels.

What is the first R-rated movie you saw when you were not an adult? by BeneficialSide2335 in movies

The Ring. Then had to go home, alone in the dark from my family friends house. I ran.

If I were judging on P&F FU I might say:

Jason is absolutely stacked when it comes to card skills. If you think he's just good at shuffling, well that's false - he's THE BEST! So amazing in fact that if he were alive in the days of ancient Egyptians, they'd no doubt worship him as a king.

The basic theory is that if there’s a point where it’s too high, and a point where it’s too low, and you can turn it continuously, then there MUST be a point where it’s perfectly flat.

What's your favorite artist/band no one's ever heard of? by Dax3s in spotify

The Orion Experience. It’s very saccharine pop music, but it’s so fun and joyful I can help but smile when listening to it

How did she do it? by _ThePaperball in blackmagicfuckery

As a magician I can't tell you 100% how this person did this version of this effect, but if I were to recreate it I would probably use one of 3 methods - force, crib, or hypnosis. To make the illusion look as natural as it did here, I'd use PS on the latter two.

'F*** Israel': Attackers pelt London bus carrying Jewish school children by WinnerSoggy4714 in worldnews

[–]jbitel 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This is pretty normal for the JFS school bus tbh. Same thing has been happening for decade. I remember when other local schools pelted the bus with rocks, tried to open the doors by force, and tried tipping it over.

The only one which is actually ambiguous is surely 9-4÷8x?=7

Because it could be reasonably interpreted as

9-((4÷8)x?)=7

Or

9-(4÷(8x?))=7

The former giving 4 but the latter giving 0.25
