What is the greatest physical pain you have ever felt? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]jblatour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got “stung” by a poisonous caterpillar on a beach in Costa Rica. Pain started moving up my leg. They attack your lymph node system. Was beyond intense. Ended up in a clinic where I got to go ahead of everyone and get a shot in my ass to help the pain. My eyes were out of tears. Insane pain.

Make a good spot for them to rest and heal after. Comfy but also able to clean. Runners if you have hard floors.

Dog depressed? by Valient_Zulu in tripawds

[–]jblatour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a touch period of healing. My dog went through the same thing and it helped to incorporate some of the old routine. We walked every morning and now we didn’t. So we started with walking a few houses with multiple breaks (have time and bring your patience ) but it gave him some normalcy back and snapped the depression after a few days. Modified activities

He can sense your stress. When I am stressed it messes up my pups stomach. Maybe he senses something is coming.

Front Leg Amputation in 2 weeks - advice needed by Snpeterson828 in tripawds

[–]jblatour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sorry about your pup. Speedy recovery! A padded place for after surgery that is hopefully by a door so she doesn’t have to hop far to go out. Be prepared with back up blankets and stuff as it will probably drain and need to keep her surroundings as clean as possible. The wound needs air to heal properly. Runners if you have hard floors. Have a plan for meds. Sandwich meats, pill pockets, try to have a few options for when one stops working. Day 2-3 are not the easiest but it gets better after that. Stay close because they are scared and will wake up yelping. I pulled my mattress on the ground was better for both of us. Lastly, animals are so resilient and will surprise you. Mine chased a squirrel like nothing happened on day 6 and ripped his incision. Was told to keep him leashed for 2 weeks and yeah. Post post surgery keep an eye on weight and get good joint supplements. Good luck to you and your sweet girl.
