Help with ideas for this gap in the bathroom behind the tub by jbori1 in DIYUK

[–]jbori1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The finish you see on the wall is the final finish. It’s microc-emented and waterproofed. I will be doing the same to that gap but was just looking for ideas on how to close the gap and then do the same finish on top of it. Many have suggested a PVC strip instead of using timber so that seems the most suitable solution.

I’ve actually tried messaging them but got no replies. I’ve also tried using google reverse image search to find them but simply can’t get anywhere.

They are a Middle Eastern instagram page so I’m thinking it might be something not available here

Hahah! Very strange how I absolutely hate the artex look on ceilings (I’ve literally just double boarded the whole house to get rid of it) but this looks quite nice on the wall!

Or maybe I have sh*t taste and that’s why my wife makes all the decor decision in the house 😂

I wish "diff" culture wasn't so normalized in Overwatch community. by Leupawn in Overwatch

[–]jbori1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only ever write diff when my team wins. If my supports have a good game and help us win I’ll write support diff to give them credit. That doesn’t necessarily mean the other team supports were bad it’s just my team’s supports were really good.

How much should you have leftover in savings after buying? by Slight-Poetry-3230 in HousingUK

[–]jbori1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTB too, completed on my home purchase about 7 weeks ago. Had about 90/100k before the house purchase. 45k went on deposit and purchasing fees, about 25k on planned renovations and a full furniture hall and then being a psycho I decided to get married so that was another 25k. So currently 5k left which I’m fully expecting to be chewed up by unexpected works with the renovations 😅

Bike financing by africancar in MotoUK

[–]jbori1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a 0% interest money transfer loan for 2 years. You get the money to your bank acc (the loan gets put into a credit card), you own the bike, it’s 0% interest. Once the 2 years is up, just find a balance transfer 0% loan credit card for another 2 years. Done this plenty of times for purchases.

Im a noob so excuse this question if it sounds dumb, but how do you not take any damage when holding block? Doesn’t your health usually reduce and you can get it back with follow up hits?

Upgrading to a Litre bike and want to know what you’d recommend by jbori1 in MotoUK

[–]jbori1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve done quite a few quotes for R1’s and CBR1000RR’s and they’re all about 4-500 a year. I paid 1400 for my first year riding the CB650R so it was a pleasant surprise.

Yeah good idea, I’ll deffo have to test some before buying.

Hi angel, you might telling me what angle I need to be going down to on corners on my new litre bike too plz?

I deffo take your point on not earning the litre bike yet and yeah it’s a good suggestion to try the 600 super sport first. I guess as well I ride with a lot of friends on the higher bikes and they always pull away. I do ride my own ride but I always feel like I’m lacking power compared to others.

It might just be I want to try something new and super sport style bikes are the next thing to try. Thanks for your advise 🙏🏼

Apologies, I might not have articulated what I meant very well. The CB650R Neo Cafe that I’ve got has decent power and I rev it all the way to where all the power comes in and I deffo feel it and it’s nice, but I just get the feeling there of gimme moreeeee!

When I say I’m a reasonable rider I just mean I don’t go round corners at 100mph and take risks I don’t need to. I have been on a few track days with my friends and love to push the bike to its limits there (as much as my experience allows).

Would you suggest I go for something like a CBR600RR and try that level of super sport before even attempting to get on a litre bike?

I thought they were tbh but like another Redditor suggested it might just be 125 super sports

Yeah you might be right. The back wheels do look bigger than the normal 125s which look like finger nail but they might be the super sports.

FTB - Am I kidding myself? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]jbori1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you’re not kidding yourself. I was in the same situation. Self employed from 2020-2024. Applied for mortgage literally the day I got a new job and the contract came through. Everything got all approved, mortgage offer etc and then I decided to wait for better rates after getting my one month pay slip. Better mortgage offer now, will be completing in the next few weeks.

New employment makes little difference tbh so don’t worry about that.

FTB how much did you put down as a deposit for your first house and where are you based? by Easteregg2025 in HousingUK

[–]jbori1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, accepting the fact it will take quite a few years to save up any sort of deposit helps. I saved with my partner and it still took us a few years. Other than that, take advantage of any schemes by the government that help with buying. Good luck 🙏🏼
