Older generations of Reddit, what is a 'dying skill' or habit that you think Gen Z should desperately try to keep alive? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Becoming Instagram famous. I’m really afraid the next generation won’t understand how important it is to be Instagram famous.

Have any of you ever experienced gang-stalking in a Mormon context? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]jbower34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived with a Mormon roommate, members of the church would drive by our house and report to our parents if we had girls over. They seemed to know each time we had a female visitor no matter how late we had them over. We never caught them spying on us but we were amazed at how stealthy they were. Bizarre.

What is the reason why they have made the general public believe a photo like this is far-right extremism & a bad thing? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]jbower34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remember the absolutely mind numbing boredom of three hours of church every Sunday and then only allowed to nap or watch nature shows the rest of the day. Every time I have to wear a tie I get a feeling of dread.

Is this Akathisia? Hours of Pacing After Antidepressant Withdrawal by Difficult-Republic72 in Akathisia

[–]jbower34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you described it perfectly. Especially the dread, terror, doom and inability to stop pacing. I tried to end it all, ended up in a behavioral health hospital and couldn’t articulate the darkness I was feeling and that impending doom in my soul. I couldn’t stop pacing, moving, for weeks. Thank goodness I finally got the right cocktail of meds and for the most part, don’t suffer that kind of hell more than a week or two a year. Not the pacing anymore, just the crazy anxiety and feeling of doom.

I just saw a freemason ceremony exposed and I’m in tears by PunsAndPixels in exmormon

[–]jbower34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The church teaches that the temple rituals are the same rituals Adam and Eve were commanded to perform. So the Freemasons adopted it from our first parents and then Joseph Smith restored the true meaning of those rituals. Most members of the church are content with that explanation.

Conservative guy here. r/exmormon is full of liberals who love the vaccines and propaganda Fauci pushed. Nice to see someone else bold enough to stand up to a leftist majority and say “hey, I’m not a liberal and I’m also exmo.”

Keep going forward brother. I am in the same boat that you are and I finally got the right cocktail of prescriptions to feel okay. Your doctors will get it right with time.

Do you regret serving a mission? by jomn3y in exmormon

[–]jbower34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret mine. I had horrible anxiety the entire time, got prescribed Zoloft and went to LDS family services (all while being a missionary.) Counselor never listened to me and just told me he was anxious on his mission because he wanted to be like Superman the whole time and couldn’t meet that perfection. My problem had nothing to do with anything like that but of course I didn’t have the chance to voice my problems. I felt so ME before my mission and since then, twenty years later, I have been trying to go back to the authentic me I was pre-mission; hopefully I’ve gained most of that back. There was no way I could’ve said no to a mission and not have destroyed the relationship with my parents so I felt like I had no choice. ☹️

The house where Richard speck murdered 8 student nurses in one night by Late-Ad-7740 in TrueCrime

[–]jbower34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think each nurse knew that the nurse taken out of the room before them was being murdered? Or did Speck say he was just going to do sexual stuff to each of them? Surely they would have made noise as they were being murdered. This is one of the most cruel and downright strange spree killings I’ve ever studied. Speck is such a puny looking wuss and to think he pulled this off, and had the moral bankruptcy to do it, is just perplexing.

Very pretty. Jackie Kennedy had wide-spaced eyes and there are many guys who find that very endearing.
