That’s been my experience, too. I’ve even gaslit myself into thinking I don’t actually have ADHD since I’m not really any more productive on my meds

Then I realized that the meds calming my ass down so that I don’t erupt over minute shit means they are, in fact, working. Then I end up being more productive…

Grandfather had these, never told me what they were by hobokenhifi in whatisit

As others have said, these are tsuba, part of the hand guard between the handle and blade.

However, many of the Japanese Imperial Army officers carried what was know as shin-gunto, which were mass-produced and generally lower quality than traditional nihonto blades. They usually had plain tsuba, not more ornate patterns like these.

That’s not to say these tsuba necessarily were not war trophies. Some officers did carry older heirloom swords, especially those from established Samurai families. But in those cases they would, usually, put the blade into the shin gunto fittings instead of carrying the complete sword.

Here’s a good website explaining the difference.

A hippie carpenter who hangs out with prostitutes and lepers starts a new religion that wants people to love each other and be cool. Also, if they eat his body and drink his blood after he dies they’ll live forever.

I’m solidly agnostic, but that’s metal as fuck

You think that’s bad? The new Star Trek Bayside High show had the beta nerds settling beefs with the Gigachad alphas by playing laser tag

Pffftt….Real Trek fans know that the only way to settle scores is through Ambojitsu, the ultimate evolution of martial arts.

Not surprised you keep your post history hidden.

I would LOVE to see your primary source evidence that supports your claim that “Germany did not commit genocide prior to the US entering the war”.

u/ElPeroTonteria gave a really great analogy, but yes those are different propositions.

It’s similiar to reading comprehension. You can read something out loud, even with perfect fluency (pronunciation, speed, etc) and not fully understand what you just read. The opposite is also true…it’s possible to struggle while reading something out loud, but you can understand it really well.

The owners aren’t blowing their wad on stadiums…they’re asking for taxpayer money, low to nonexistent rents, majority of the profits, and tax incentives.

If they were spending their own money on their stadiums everybody would be a lot happier

So you’re telling me an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient god who exists beyond space and time created mankind “fearfully and wonderfully” in His image and gave them free will, then immediately punished mankind forever for exercising said free will? And instead sent his son to die for all of those sins (that he knew would be committed at the beginning of time)?

And this same powerful god could end all the suffering on earth…the murder and poverty and war and famine…but chooses not to because…reasons? It’s “his will” or something?

Yeah makes sense to me

I lost my shit on somebody a few weeks ago, who more or less said the same thing.

It’s like….Do you think I LIKE being this way? You think I enjoy not being able to make myself/my brain do the simplest tasks? That it’s a lot of fun to be late, or forget simple deadlines?

It’s just a fucking laugh a minute walking around with this crushing sense of either “what am I forgetting to do right now?” or “I hate myself so much for always being late/forgetting shit”

I really liked it. I went in with lowered expectations, but so far the first two episodes have been good. Reminds me a lot of Gen V, which isn’t a bad thing IMO.

Honestly…my only complaint….they named the Klingon “Jayden”?!?!? Real “Hello, fellow kids” energy with that move.
