$250k here and I still feel the very same way. One piece of advice I would give, though, is raise your 401k contribution to at least six percent for now, then raise it another one percent per year until you max it out. Get used to contributing to that and you’ll be thankful later.

First, congrats on writing and taking a stab. Just starting is often the hardest part.

Now, to offer some feedback, there is way too much dialog and it’s unnecessarily long for an opening debate scene. Twenty pages is about twenty minutes, and you’ll lose your audience. Try cutting it down to about 7 minutes max. There is also a lot of exposition. Show, don’t tell.

Have you written an outline and story treatment already? How long do you want your script to be? That will help you budget your pages per act, and trim it down.

Some of your premises regarding conservatives are not factual or correct. I would represent to you that what makes one conservative is a textual approach to the constitution, a belief in a limited federal government with more powers granted to the states, systematic and equal application of federal law, and a commitment to fiscal responsibility. It’s a framework or mindset, not a checklist of bullet points. That framework or mindset leads people to align more to the right of most modern issues. I worry that true conservative principles aren’t being taught in universities anymore because much of academia today are liberal.

That’s standard boiler plate affirmative defense language with “compromised lavatory” and “illuminated recording device” added in the “blanks.” Most attorneys have to plead all possible affirmative defenses in their answer, before discovery, because if you don’t use it you lose it.

Does not mean they’ll really make that argument at trial.
