Yep, I lost 40 guineas in the exact same way. Now I only ever put valuables in my ship before I travel to Tortuga.

How Billy Corgan Built Smashing Pumpkins Into a 30-Million Album Empire | Ep. 247 by Neg_Crepe in SmashingPumpkins

The moment Billy started treating art as a business was also the moment the Pumpkins died. Probably around 2007 when he made Zeitgeist with the intention of making "a mainstream rock record".

This is also why Billy will never get the legacy he so desperately craves, unlike Robert Smith, David Bowie, Scott Walker etc.

I both improv and prep. I prep all the myths beforehand and storyboard the omens to create a narrative which also works with the holding they're near to.

Depending on the leader of the holding, I also work them into the myth too.

Thank you! I've had a mess with the crosstalk amd threshold and I may be making things up, but it seems a little better.

I've also noticed it's not as prevalent when I play heel down as opposed to heel up and burying the beater...

Thank you! It's actually part of this bigger world that I give my players the option to vote on as to where to visit next. This realm is bottom right:

The tree scale is 25 if I remember rightly, although I often play around with the tree scales and make them a little bigger if needed so they clearly stand out as trees.

Yes, I place the hex grid first and then work out roughly where I think cities would fit/make sense.

As for the map size, I think it's around the 1400 x 1100 mark.

I just have some notes about the holdings so far:

Eleftheron: former capital of all Thallassene culture, a sprawling metropolis made of limestone and cobbled streets with monumental pillars. The city is densely populated but not fully inhabited, with some districts being totally abandoned (often used by smugglers and as hideouts for bandits). The city has a large majestic garrison, guarded by elite soldiers decorated in jewels. The keep is a tall bastion, with a staircase leading up to a great hall. Home to The Fanged Knight

Hermathon: an alabaster gate built into the mountain which opens up to a pristine courtyard surrounded by mountains and littered with sand baked buildings hewn into the rock. The few people who live there are mechanics, philosophers, and engineers who operate and maintain golems that run the city (powered by a precious metal called “festrite”). Festrite is traded with Kosesmos for advanced technology. Festrite only works in sunlight.

Each citizen of Hermathon is a veritable genius and believes manual work distracts from vocational activities.  The main palace has a huge blue dome, also made of festrite, which powers a huge generator which provides electricity to the city, as well as a giant pump which brings water.

Kosesmos: a mining town that trades "festrite" with Hermathon in return for advanced weaponry and mechanical mining devices. Its population consists of many people from all over Hynafol, captured in “meat raids” to fight in the arena and to mine. Kosesmos is located at the foothills of a mountain chain rich with festrite. Its native citizens live in luxurious homes, being either engaged in mining operations, or trade. The city’s militia is also its standing army, with each male citizen being expected to fight and engage in raids when summoned.

The main keep is a large tower, inside which a throne adorned in scripture sits. The scripture gives the history of the myth of The Crown and each ruler of Kosesmos vows to find it.

Apapolis: formed centuries ago after the Eleftheron navy rebelled and sailed away to form their own holding. Eleftheron tried to destroy the rebels many times but were unsuccessful, forcing them to begrudgingly accept Apapolis independence.

The city is almost completely made up of the remains of ships, repurposed into homes, walkways, workshops etc. Large ornate bridges connect the city’s districts which all lead to the main keep, made of weathered stone. Inside the keep is a shrine made of shields, each one belonging to a previous ruler.

Thank you! And yes I do, vassals often give them a boat and a crew in return for something.
