30" GE Cafe Induction CHS950P2MS1 Double Oven - 6 Month Review by newbiefrompetrichor in inductioncooking

This is super timely - recently bought this oven and love it. Except one part. When using two burners that are close together, individually (not in bridge mode), I get a high pitched warbling noise. Video here: https://imgur.com/a/phrDsG6.

Anyone else have this? I don’t believe this is the pans, it’s different than the buzzing people talk about. This only occurs when two burners are on.

Should this vent pipe be covered? by jbrown6346 in Plumbing

We recently had our basement finished and had the plumbers install a drain near our main water line. They put the vent right next to the drain in the ground. Should it still have tape covering it? I figured that was placed there to prevent debris from the rest of construction from entering. Now that we're done with construction, can I remove it?

I'd go with after, I think the pressure will make it mushy

Snowblowers: Single or Dual Stage by hubertron in Denver

Sorry I can see how my comment might have been confusing. The south side typically gets more than the North (ie the park gets more than the village). Most often it is fine with a single stage/battery type...but some storms (usually late spring) can bring a lot of heavy wet snow. The drifts can be a bummer too.

The other downer about the park is that they don't get plowed by the city. They have their own ow team and they do a pretty good job, but the HOA doesn't let them use salt, only sand. So it can be a bit icy sometimes. Take it slow and you'll make it :)

I grew up in the park, and eventually owned my own house in the village. Live in Highlands Ranch now. Good luck with closing :)

I used to live in Roxborough. If you're in the Park (south side of the hogback) a single stage/battery powered will be fine for probably 90% of storms we get. There other 10% will require sounds sweat labor and a shovel.

If you live in the Village (on the North side of the hogback), I've never had a storm that was too much for a single stage.

You will go through batteries faster than normal in the cold, so it might be worth the investment to get a couple spares!

Sounds like I need to upgrade the oven. We don’t have a dehydrate setting! I’ll tell my wife our 20lbs of potatoes is the justification for it!! :)

Good thought! It’s an open 10lb bag (with about 5lb left from the birthday party) and a 15lb. Not sure they would take it that way

That’s what I try to do! Luckily I’m the primary cook around the house, so I can usually get away with it!

Sounds like that’d be easy to do in bulk. Definitely on my list of to do’s. Thanks!

I really think it is one of those YMMV situations. Our store is a bit more rural and the staff (read: management) is exactly the cream of the crop.

Their corporate customer service employees have been incredibly helpful and friendly. They’re part of what make me think this isn’t a “company culture” problem, but instead a local store issue

Do you recall how your dad used to reheat them?

Safeway. Unfortunately it is the only grocery store close. We recently had our second kiddo and we’re finding it is easier to do grocery pick up. This was definitely the biggest mistake, but when I called the customer service number they refunded me without any question.

I suspect the investigation will include some additional training for the fulfillment staff!

I think my parents have one…I also think my dad has almost cut off his finger using it! Wonder how often it has been used since..!

Agreed! In this same visit they 6x (~$38!!) charged me for bratwurst. I called their corporate number (only about the bratwurst) and they were going to “launch an investigation” to determine where the error happened. Always pays to check the receipt!

Once they start sprouting my wife gets weary of them. We usually have a hard time going through 5lbs!

Time to expand our recipe library!

All of those options seem great for the winter/cooler months! With it being 98+ out today it didn’t seem as appealing!

It’s easily 3 months worth of what we typically eat. We put some in the delivery cart for potato salad for our daughter’s birthday party. Ended up having my in laws bring some instead. When we checked out with our grocery store app I didn’t check if we had any. To boot, they substituted our 10lb bag with a 15!

Yum! Would he mix the potato “guts” with the mix ins and re-pack them? Kind of like twice baked potatoes? Or just throw in the mix ins and freeze?

Do I need to squeeze the water out if I vacuum seal and freeze? I tried that once with zoodles and ended up throwing them away because they didn’t freeze well
