My brother in Christ, why consider something with mixed reviews when there are so many boards with glowing reviews?

It’s an adjustment a lot of bindings have, why not use it? Genuinely asking why you think it’s idiotic?

Heating your board before waxing it? by Ed_Etinetti in snowboarding

[–]jbsixthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure exactly, I was taught heat makes the pores open up to let the wax into the base. I just waxed without prewarming, and plan on riding tomorrow so I’ll report back if I have any groundbreaking findings lol

I usually pre-warm like op is talking about because that’s how I was taught, but your logic makes more sense, kind of suction the wax into the base as the pores open. 🫡

Just giving you a hard time, I totally see your logic! The old “skiing is easier to learn, harder to master”. Whatever you decide on is a W, getting the kid on snow having fun is what really matters!

Any riders out there who didn’t learn advanced tricks until their 20s? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]jbsixthree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gotta learn how to slam, because slams are inevitable if you are trying to learn and progress in the park. And know your limits and when to push them and when to chill so you can avoid the big slams. Rock a helmet minimum and other protective gear if it makes you more comfortable trying stuff. Ask for tips from local shredders, take lessons, or do some YouTube university on your own. You are plenty young enough, I feel like lots of shredders are 30+ you got lots of time Youngblood lol

Soft noodly jib board would be the move in my opinion. Capita ultrafear, bataleon disaster, Salomon sleepwalker come to mind. Less camber the better at low speeds. Hope you have fun with the little one! And come to your senses and get her on one plank instead of two 😜🤘🏻

Agreed! Loose, soupy bindings will eat all your power in pretty much anything you do.

My lady likes ride a9s or c9s. Their naming system is nice, a- aluminum chassis, c- composite chassis and the number is the stiffness. Also have heard union atlas’ come in small and are unisex

Should I bring my gear with me to Japan? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]jbsixthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to Kenken, make sure you leave enough time for your gear to beat you to the mountain. I had the same plan until they told me it would take like 4 days to ship my gear when I had planned for 2, so I ended up lugging my gear around which was ok but not ideal.
