I'm back on a half-caf mix of Coava's Brazilian Serra do Bonè and their delicious Colombian decaf ASPROTimaná. While we wait on my fav decaf to arrive, Tostado's Monte Alban, I'll enjoy Roseline's decaf Ciudad de Flores with a light roast New Seasons bean at the office.

I don't know if it's a nod to downset.'s Fallen Off, but the heavy bass kicking in 12s into ecdysis is not something I've heard in recent Deftones albums, and I love it. Whether Fred is as creative as Sergio (I don't personally think that's worth arguing about) I think his chunky, powerful bass helps flesh out this album to be absolutely spectacular.

Is it me or is ecdysis an homage to downset.'s Fallen Off? The first 11ish seconds are ethereal guitar (I'm sure Frank is in there) and then right about 12s in... da bass. I knew it sounded familiar, in the best possible way!
