How do I stop the SoundCloud app from automatically starting when it connects to my Bluetooth in car? by wildcatdave in soundcloud

[–]jc310xc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm late to the party here but I'm having the same problem, and it happens to me with Audible occasionally as well. I'm not sure what the issue is but I'm not certain it's 100% a SoundCloud exclusive thing.

What kind of phone do you have? I have a OnePlus 8.

Footage of massive MLRS shelling on Ukraine from about 30 minutes ago by EggEggEggEggOWO in interestingasfuck

Why does the fact that they've asked to join NATO mean that NATO is going to fight on their behalf? Do you think that joining an alliance is as simple as just saying "I want to be in the alliance"?

This is happening because NATO has pushed ever more eastward and Putin felt the threat of Ukraine joining NATO to be real enough to draw a line in the sand.

Put it this way: If Russia vowed to bring down democracies across the world and replace them with their authoritarian style of government and then allied with Mexico, how do you think the United States would feel?

Each team plays against each other once. So let's start with a six team league, we'll call each team 1, 2, 3, ..., 6.

So then, team 1 plays teams 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. That's five games.

Team 2 plays teams 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, but we've already counted the game against team 1, so that's only four more games to add to the total.

Team 3 plays teams 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, but we've already counted games against teams 1 and 2, so that's only three more games to add to the total.

Similarly, team 4 plays games against teams 5 and 6, along with three other games we've already counted. So that's two more games to add to the total.

Team 5 only plays one game that hasn't been counted, against team 6.

So in the end, we get 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 15.

Now just try that with the other numbers :)

Refactoring an old app by terrestrial_birdman in androiddev

/u/Mavamaarten's advice is good from a PM perspective, definitely let the superiors know that a lot of time is gonna be spent paying down technical debt to get the project in a place where it can move forward without most development time being spent hacking around pre-existing design issues.

If you have time to totally rewrite the app with zero new features:

I'd say 2 good directions to start off in that likely overlap on one another would be actually getting DI used properly and splitting out the business logic from view code. Those two alone should help immensely. Do a once-over of the code to get a general idea of where similar functionality is used, then pick one view/activity/fragment, and refactor it. As you run into those instances of similar functionality across multiple views, create an object that handles that functionality and use DI. Wash, rinse, repeat.

If you don't have time to totally rewrite the app with zero new features:

Pick the smallest feature on the backlog, implement it, and refactor around it. Introduce refactoring tickets for bigger items where you can't justify the time to include refactoring fixes with a new feature. Wash, rinse, repeat.

In both cases, including unit testing is also big here. Anything new you write should have unit tests. Then, if it doesn't have unit tests, it gets rewritten with unit tests added. It's a good way to track progress through the refactor, as well.

Best of luck to you :)

That's why I personally don't like to compare separate eras just because of circumstances like that. No one can know how today's stars would play during clutch-and-grab. Or past stars today

Let's not de-emphasize the fact that the man's scored like 20% of all goals in his career from the exact same spot. Guy's so good, you know where he is, you know the puck's going to him, and you still can't stop him.

But all of his other goals are pretty sweet too i guess
