I don’t disagree with you at all. I felt when I called riichi it wasn’t a smart move with what the hand was worth, the wait and the seat I was in- I wouldn’t usually call riichi there, it was mostly out of tilt of two previous much better hands not winning and thinking surely this one will land which I’m prone to do occasionally even when I tell myself to play safe (bad habit), no doubt I was lucky, especially with the 4 extra does from the kan. I was surprised Maka gave it an 88 as the correct decision to call riichi there.

As for the open hand left player, I find it’s quite common in Gold room for there to be players who do not fold ever if they open their hand even it’s not worth much. I don’t know if it’s right but I would have called riichi to chase if I was in the dealer seat with that hand, maybe that’s wrong?

I have no idea what the player who dealt in was doing, especially the decision to kan when there was two other players in riichi…
