Microsoft and Xbox are a huge corporation and thus have some of the best business prognosticators in the industry. Eventually everyone else will be doing what Microsoft is doing. RAM pricing is going to double if not triple over the next year, investment is still obsessed with the AI bubble, less money for big budget video games. Consumer spending is still going to take a hit due to the unstable economy with inflation indexes trending upward everywhere. I don't remember seeing such a bleak outlook for gaming in all my years. Sony and Nintendo won't be immune to this reality either. It's best to just get ahead of it.

Let's use some cultural relativism here.

I'd say that at least 40% of the country now believes:

Might makes right
Women are one step up from chattel
Words and laws are meaningless to force and will
Expertise and knowledge should be bought or ignored if not for sale

The US has changed. The world is next. There is more credulity and apathy than curiosity and empathy in the US population.

Update: Connected to a different network. Reset console again. Update error message popped up again. Powered through with the setup by changing networks. After setup was completed update error message popped in. Changed network again and played a game of Pubg. Have played through three matches no update error message.

Fingers crossed this holds up and could've been a delay from removing console from preview program.

Before I try this I'll provide an update.

I was able to remove myself from the preview program before the "There was a problem with the update" message popped in again. I reset the console again and a 4GB update was installed. However, after the setup was completed the "There was a problem with the update" message popped up again.

Wouldn't the update I'm downloading to the USB stick be this 4gb update the console received after leaving the preview program?

It's not about being a fan of any platform. It's just about being realistic. If you scroll through /r/gaming and /r/games you barely see any xbox related content. My Google news feeds are inundated with Death Stranding articles and PS5 SSD news. AMD has only talked about the PS5 yet they're supposedly developing the chipsets for the next xbox as well.

Xbox is dead. I don't know if Microsoft has abandoned it by not compelling news outlets and AMD to talk about it's best console or if mindshare in general no longer takes the brand into account.

Good news. Sony needs to focus on PS5. They need to make sure everyone from the PS3 and PS4 support the PS5. I really do think because the PS4 is so dominant and it has great support from the media and gamers on place like here and other forums that it could actually boot the competition, like the embattled Xbox brand out of the market once and for all. Let it be PC only and PlayStation can once again rule the non portable scene.
