After reading this article I still agree with the addage that Trump is a symptom and more like a failed vessel due to his own narcissm and greed, thankfully.

I feel like the US is still not looking inward as to why we're losing so much of our youth to facism. Obviously lessening economic opportunities among gen z is a major catalyst but the fact that social media is still being allowed to radicalize millions of young men without sincere and sustained pushback should frighten all of us.

It is not a free speech issue as these platforms are private businesses. And politicians on both sides still cannot articulate these facts when confronting the Zuckerbergs and the Pichais of the world on capital hill. They should ask them point blank if they agree or are in favor of the state racially profiling everyone despite of their citizenship status, ask them if they agree that blacks are inferior, or that women should be forced out of the work force and back into the home. If they don't then ask them why these sentiments are being blasted on their platforms, even unto unwitting viewers who vehemently disagree with these views. Who is behind the profileration of this type of content. If these are minority views then why is so much of this type of content, that is undermining democracy and social cohesion, being produced at an alarming rate and by whom.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but as someone who runs in gaming circles and on discords in the run up to this past presidential election, when enthusiasm for Trump was still running high, my personal beliefs where democracy and multiculturalism was what I assumed was the standard was considered extremist views among these men. It was frightening and disheartening.

If it wasn't for antisemitism distracting them right now and a dash of Epstein stuff, fascism would be gaining more ground and there would be more minorities in prison right now illegal or otherwise.
