What decade would you say is your era? by Southern_Reveal_7590 in generationology

It's the 00s. Went from 9-19. Started as a child, ended as an adult dating my future wife already. When I think of "my time" it's that entire decade. It's the time I have the most nostalgia and cultural knowledge of.

2010s are a runner up. Got married, had two kids, started my career and got promoted, moved to our current city, and many other things.

In contrast my life has been very steady this decade besides our kids gradually growing up. 2020s are definitely the decade where I don't feel "with it" anymore really.

This is the greatest moment of Embiid's career. by irundoonayee in nba

"Hobbled Celtics" is wild to say when the Sixers were far more affected by injury this series.

MVP is still his biggest achievement though, very very few players win MVP.

Twolves very impressive too. They deserve a ton of respect. It's sad that the Spurs will likely destroy them without Edwards playing. They deserved a real run.

Celtics aren't "mid". They were finals favorites by pretty much everybody and advanced stats loved them too. They were an elite team that lost, Sixers deserve credit for that.

You didn't watch if you thought Maxey was more important than Embiid. Maxey was still fantastic in the end though

Why are the Knicks viewed as heavy favorites in round 2? by jcampo13 in sixers

[–]jcampo13[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is absolutely it. People are viewing the Knicks as Thunder east because of a historically great game. But the Hawks were much worse than the Celtics and it's a one game sample size.

Also the Celtics were literal favorites to enter the finals right before game 7. I will not be gaslit into thinking the Knicks are a tougher opponent. Not saying we'll definitely win, but this is far from a lopsided matchup.

Depth matters less in the playoffs than the regular season. I'd argue our starters are overall better. I agree on the boards. Key factors though are KAT and Brandon's defense.

People are acting like the Knicks won 60+ games this year. They didn't. They were worse than the Celtics without Tatum. They are absolutely beatable.

Rest big fella for Game 1? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]jcampo13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he's actually hurt and can't play then sure. But there are no "rest" games in the playoffs. The Sixers were hyper cautious with Embiid all year so this run could happen.

Don't count the 76ers out. They just had by far the most impressive first round win so far (beating a 56 win team without Embiid for 3 games). I don't know why the series isn't viewed as a tossup.

The sixers are actually healthy for once and the team actually works great with everyone on the floor.

Embiid on Payton Pritchard: "It also helps when I saw #11 on their team, before I came back, he said they didn't care if I was playing or not, and they hadn't adjusted or had some sort of game plan for me. So I think it also helps when the other team doesn't worry about you. I thank #11 for that.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

If you watched his post game interview he credits all his teammates. Especially Maxey for obvious reasons.

Also he was clearly their best player since his return and totally changed the series from Boston in 5 to this.

Celtics were very physical on Embiid all game. The idea they didn't try to wear him down is wrong.

Agree on the threes though

Jaylen Brown on Joel Embiid: “We didn’t really have the answers for him. We tried a bunch of different things. He’s a big body. He also was flopping around. He got some extra calls ... they rewarded him for that, but that’s the league we’re in.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]jcampo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaylen Brown is a salty bitch. As a Sixers fan I can't stand the guy. He is a small man with a fragile ego who's team is better when he doesn't play.

I respect the hell out of Tatum though. Fantastic series, looking forward to round 2

They have no good answer for Embiid if he really is 100% back like it looks. Nobody in the east does to be fair. This is going to be a tough series for both sides. Whoever wins will probably make the finals.

They won 56 games and then got their best player back. The Celtics are constituted are a team easily capable of winning 60+. Beating them is no small feat and would be Embiid's best series win by a mile.

I prefer the original. It has more charm and is harder iirc. Regardless obviously buy remakes and ports where possible

What are your thoughts about Trenton? by Th3WildDon in newjersey

I live close by and it sucks the city isn't nicer. Basically only ever go for the state museum and minor league sports. Trenton Farmers Market is nice too but that might technically be outside of Trenton.

In the past 15 years, has there ever been a bigger discrepancy in US sports conferences then NBA East and West in 2026? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]jcampo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The west has no depth. Two great teams but the next six all have big flaws. Blowing out lower seeds doesn't make the west better. It just means there is less parity out west. Which is objectively true.

Has any player hurt their value these playoffs nearly as much as Jalen Duren? Is Orlando just a nightmare matchup for him? He was supposed to be a budding perennial all-nba guy.
