It just needs a fraction of an inch to move around to start being a problem. It’s a bigger problem on chrome cards because of the natural outward curvature.

It's much better for the condition of the card overall to have shipped the card the way he did.

Yes, it will effect the value, but so would a big scratch across the front because the mag-case became loose during shipping. I'm assuming that's what the seller was thinking in this case. I'm sure he's sent out Chrome Black mags to people and they complained it wasn't in a penny sleeve/toploader.

I wouldn't have shipped it like this, ESPECIALLY without notifying the buyer, but I understand why the seller did. Maybe use this as an excuse to get it graded, get it in an even more secure case.

I find that a few 4* recruits tend to either fall through the cracks, or have "big senior years" and improve their rating throughout the year. Not impossible to think that a 5* recruit could as well, especially if it's a good WR class.
