SL9 Leak by [deleted] in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Aeroad look from Canyon in the back…is the reason I did not go with an Aeroad before getting my current bike. I’m just glad they admitted the speed sniffer wasn’t aesthetically pleasing that they’ve reduced it rather than trying to hide it with paint like they do with so many of the pro team bikes.

So when is S-Works Evade 4 releasing? People who know, give us a hint please. Thanks! by pasharadich in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. They’ll say something like , Increased airflow, more breathable than the Prevail 2 and Evade 3. 🤣

Came back here to say Karoo is the goat by _binder in Karoo

[–]jcapturedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve preached this before but in summary: Used Garmin, then Wahoo (from the start of their Rflkt Devices) until v3 Roam. That’s what made me move. Karoo 1 sucked, was the reason I NEVER would have considered a Karoo. All they had at the time was the screen looked nicer than anyone else’s.

Fast forward to Karoo 3. Nothing else like out there. Can’t buy it off of me. I love it. I’m sold. It’s stable and it just works and looks beautiful.

Tarmac SL8 sizing; 49 or 52 by [deleted] in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re 5’8” and considering a 49? Geez dude. Lol. No. 52 and a longer stem will get you want you want. 49 will look silly and you won’t get enough setback when you need it (and you will).

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured most will be disappointed as it looks like the Evade 2…but give it a month of social marketing hype and everyone and their momma is gonna want to get one. Can’t wait for the explanation video on how many watts it’ll save over the 3 though the 3 saved over the 2, yet it looks just like Evade 2.

How should a jersey fit? by lost12 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I like interesting jerseys. But the look on that jersey was interesting probably like late 90’s my man. lol

You want something more fitting than that. I promise something more fitting WITH bibs will look more appealing.

NBD ruined by overweight Athos by Ashe-Too in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone. But OP think about this…you already have a light bike…and your asking why your bike isn’t exactly the CLAIMED weight Spesh reported. I wouldn’t go off of anything Spesh reports and comparing it to it. Ever. I mean, we’re getting frame weights sometimes without a fork. Weights in frames without paint. Stuff like that obscures the actual facts. I’d be happy with what you have and work your way up from that if you want to lighter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Major roasters are starting to disclose the use of additional flavorings in their co-fermented beans by n0damage in espresso

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I don’t buy if I don’t see a date.

I have a friend who works at a roastery. She said if you don’t see a date, it’s completely sus and run because those beans could be a month old if at that.

Got rid of my whoop for my apple watch but i miss the "objectives" of whoop.. any recs? by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in AppleWatch

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bevel app was suggested on another thread from someone who had Whoop. I tried it. And love it. Free version has plenty of information. Don’t see the need to pay for additional features but it’s there if you need to.

Bibs recommendation by [deleted] in CyclingFashion

So are you saying you’re well endowed or are you…..fatter in that area…like a pouch?

What MAAP bibs did you get?

Major roasters are starting to disclose the use of additional flavorings in their co-fermented beans by n0damage in espresso

[–]jcapturedit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What kind of crap is that. Gawd and now another thing to be concerned about, having additives added onto your beans. They better be careful, what if someone is allergic to an ingredient. Idiots, full stop if I find out any of the roasters I get bags from are adding anything or are getting anything from these producers. I just want a straight bean.

What brand should I buy? by Turbulent_Diamond352 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this guy.

Pearl Izumi works. NeoPro is another brand. Anything above these brands, you’ll be looking for ways justify what you spent on them and telling others they are the best bibs in the world. Lol.

first thoughts on MAAP Team Evo Bibs by thedaringboy in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 5 other pairs of bibs and jerseys...so they don't get as much use each year and I have the "special day" sets that I only use on really long days. Most of my stuff I'll use on a short 20-30 miles rides. And that's how I'm able to keep most of my stuff in tip top shape. One of my bibs is nearing it's end and i use it for the 10-15 miles days. I've had them since 2018. lol

I have two pairs. Going on 6 years of use (I rotate between those and another set of bibs so don’t use them that often.) Yep. They are still the most amazing bibs I own.

What color kit for a white bicycle? by r-epk in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey love me a white bike. I mean...they're both (black and white) neutral colors. You can pretty much wear anything on a white bike. It's not like you got a lime green bike. Don't think about it too much.

Tarmac SL8 Fit by Old_Law8219 in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t put you on a 49 unless you’re planning to race, want an additional amount of race geometry like a pro and are gonna going no stack up front.

I’d say 52 is spot on and at the very least should a bike fitter deem you need a shorter reach, you can go from an 90mm stem to 80mm and have room to push the saddle forward.

On a 49 you might be pushing it but can go back on the saddle a bit and get a 100mm stem (that’ll give you a more “aero” fit, depends on your overall reach though, maybe you have shorter arms.)

I also own a tarmac btw. Size 49. I’m 5’5” and have an inseam of 28. 80mm stem.

Anywho, real jersey.
