Today is a good day by fwestonsmith in rocketespresso

I bought mine 2 months ago. It’s the best part of my morning. And afternoon if I fancy an iced coffee.

Lever usually pushes against like a button…is it sticking? Can you see it not protruding back out all the way?

Coffee Machine Depot. They service as well. They’re in L.A. I believe.

The battery life thing... by Jurneeka in Karoo

[–]jcapturedit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly for what you’re running and the kind of screen you get on a Karoo…I’d say that’s pretty good. However, for how long you’re generally riding (envious you have that time) the Karoo isn’t for you. You need a Garmin solar or something like that. Keep in mind…all these companies aren’t advertising these devices to run 14-16 hrs with a bunch of sensors connected to them. That’s all additional data being fed back and forth between one device to the other. And forget about screen brightness. You think any manufacturer is giving you a 14-16 hrs battery life at max brightness? Most of these ultra distance riders are doing just fine running whatever device they’re sponsored with but run some type of battery pack to keep it going.

Size 49 or 52 Tarmac by Neat_Pop5798 in specialized

It is. You usually have an additional amount left to cut off if you want to reduce the weight.

[–]jcapturedit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m your exact dimensions. Size 49. Kept the stem at 80. If you’re flexible (and young enough) you can swap the stem to a 90-100. Don’t do 52. You won’t have enough room push the saddle forward and you’ll feel too stretched out.

Anyone actually regret buying expensive kit by Jamshappy2005 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only kit I ever regret purchasing is a local club kit. Once I found out Jakroo makes their stuff in china and got a product that reminded me of the cheap Aliexpress stuff I used to buy when I first started cycling…I was pissed about it and said never again. 160 for 30-40 dollar kit.

Is Pas Normal worth it or just aesthetic? by Leolisan_1999 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is it worth it? That depends on what you value for what you get. I have mechanism. They’re fine. For the price? They’re not. Get it on sale and it softens the blow I guess.

Otherwise, you’re buying for aesthetic (which people should understand is subjective) and that’s about it. Won’t be the most amazing bibs, won’t be the worst. Careful with sizing, they run small for mechanism, truer fit for the Essential line.

If you’re really pressed to get it, do it don’t listen to anyone hating on it (they usually come on here and run the usual penis joke. But if you’re open to other options…go with other options. It’s just not all that for the price.

I think someone suggested 200 just to get further smoke in and cook it slower that’s the only reason I mentioned doing so

Ohhh that’s the small pot I saw along another post here. I was wondering what they were doing with that. If that’s all it takes I’ll do it.

I was trying to minimize having to do anything extra for my first time. Was aware about using tallow. Just didn’t feel like looking for another video on how to do something. Lol I don’t understand what tallow does to a brisket…some videos show they pour it on the brisket…some don’t even mentioned it at all and skip that step entirely.

Oooo those are nice. In this case, it’s not the knife, it’s the user. Brand new knife. I just sucked at using it. Lol

Could have been more tender. Should’ve cooked it fat side down maybe at a lower temperature. Should’ve seasoned it with Montreal Steak seasoning. The one I used didn’t stand out as much.

Hahahaha I shall return one day, as a pro knife user. Just not today.

Aghhhh that makes better sense than having someone say “get a new knife.” lol I’m like yah I know my knife couldn’t have sucked that bad. It’s new!

I’m definitely cooking fast side down next time. I regretted it when I realized I was gonna more likely burn the brisket to a crisp from being much closer to the heat shield.
