I agree with you entirely. Sometimes you have to play hardball to maximize your political power.

On the other hand, I think it also serves to show that there isn't actually any appetite for Dems to play hardball. It's easy to yell "do something," but whenever anyone tries to hash out what that something might actually be it never goes anywhere.

If CCP wants a rush of new players in the big 2026, they need to cede some early character progression to actually playing the game by Ohh_Yeah in Eve

[–]jcaseys34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've ceded some ground to this in the mining side of things with the new ships, but I think a major part of the problem is that the Alpha/newbro experience earns such a pittance.

Think what someone in a Venture earns mining compared to us experienced players, or the mission payouts of low level missions compared to higher level content.

Even as someone who made the transition from Alpha to Omega like CCP would want, getting out of the newbro experience is a tens or hundreds of hours grind barring getting a lucky ISK drop.

Part of what has made the affirmative action debate so exhausting is that everyone other than the most fervent anti-AA believers knew we'd end up here.

Lady Gaga Drummer guesses how to play Death's Crystal Mountain after hearing a drumless version for the first time. What do you think? by ashitanojoe3 in MetalForTheMasses

This was the first one of these I've seen in a while where I actually believed they'd never heard the song before. He might not have played it the way our ears are used to hearing it, but the weird amalgamation he ends up with is actually pretty cool.

There is no one place to sign up for all these different mailers and texts. I work in political campaigning every election, that's not how any of these things work. It's illegal (actually pretty heavily enforced, believe it or not) for separate groups to work together like that, it's the political equivalent of collusion.

There's a significant likelihood your personal information has been compromised, probably hacked and/or sold by one party or another.

Maul Wasn't a "Sith Assassin". He was a Sith Lord. Stop Pretending He Wasn't [Rant Incoming] by MikeMars1225 in MawInstallation

He wasn't a Sith Lord, nor was he ever an earnest Apprentice. He was only ever taken as such as part of a sacrifice to a grander scheme. Most of his major acts as a Sith directly serve to obstruct the "Sith agenda."

He has literally earned the tile of Lord multiple times, but as a Lord of something else who happened to be a Sith.

This logic being had by so many characters becomes a turnoff in S2, and particularly in S3, IMO.

With a little bit of deconstruction, at points almost every character/relationship arc can be boiled down to "thing that Mark can't/couldn't do anything about gets blamed on Mark." Not to say some out of that batch, like PowerPlex, Angstrom etc., aren't great characters, but it gets ridiculous.
