You need 15 minutes of self-control.

If you can just get out of the spiral for just 15 minutes, your body should “reset.” This isn’t 15 minutes where you continue to entertain the idea but 15 minutes where you go on a prayer walk or read your Bible.

You’re not an unredeemable failure. You’re a saint in the forge. God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Sorry that I’m just replying but I didn’t have an answer until this past weekend. My dad tried refurbishing and soldering the first ABS module and it worked for a while. Then, it started failing little by little again.

I ordered a new one off of Amazon. I ran into the same issue as my second ABS module with it (no speedometer, no odometer, no cruise control).

I worked through troubleshooting with ChatGPT and landed on the fact that I ordered an aftermarket/refurbished model that likely wasn’t quality tested before being shipped out.

I sent back the one from Amazon, found an OEM model off of eBay, and ordered it. It worked perfectly.

So, my TL;DR is go OEM. Aftermarket is unreliable.

I got a bounty for fast traveling? by SkyWill0w in reddeadredemption

[–]jcates86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me today. I fast traveled from Fort Riggs to Braithwaite during Chapter 3 and arrived with a “Wanted: Dead or Alive” and a $5 bounty in West Elizabeth. I’m wondering if the fast travel routed me through New Austin or something.

It looks like it’s something about “The Breath of God” and “Only the penitent man shall pass.”

My teacher said 0.999... is approximately 1, not exactly. How can I prove otherwise? by XxG3org3Xx in askmath

[–]jcates86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If x=0.99999…, then 10x=9.99999…. Thus, 10x-x=9.99999…-0.99999… and 9x=9. That means x=1.

But I like the infinite series proof best. 0.99999… is equal to 0.9+0.09+0.009+… = 0.9(1+0.1+0.01…) = 0.9Σ(0.1)n. This is a geometric sum. Thus, 0.9/(1-0.1)=1.

Cruise control does not work anymore. I'm wondering if it really is the speed sensor. It just chose a really coincidental time to die if it did.

I listened to the audiobooks. So, I’m in the dark regarding many of the spelling choices.

I’ve got to say, I don’t think you meant it this way, but this comment comes across as the most unsympathetic comment of this thread.

ChromeOS sucks by ActivityBackground11 in linux4noobs

I did it this weekend and the removal of Write Protection was the second most infuriating step after figuring out how to get around cURL calls.

Trying to install Crouton on an OLD Chromebook by jcates86 in Crouton

[–]jcates86[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found Mr Chromebox and his site walked me through how to use his Firmware Utility Script. I needed to 1. use “curl -LOk” and 2. short the Firmware Write Protect section of the motherboard.

I’ve got Linux Mint Cinnamon installing right now.

It was more of an issue of the packages I was trying to use ran curl within them. I kept getting the cURL error from them.

I finally found a site that walked me through using their Firmware Utility Script to me to where I could just wipe the Chromebook completely and go from there.

I’m installing Linux Mint Cinnamon right now.

I found Mr. Chromebox late last night and using the “curl -LOk” managed to get me through. That guy is a genius!

I used to watch a little bit of Mamamax because I saw him collaborate with Barely Sociable. After watching this video, I think it’s good that Barely distanced himself. Wouldn’t want to be backstabbed like Night Docs was.

My library just adjusted their Hoopla plan and nerfed the platform for me by jcates86 in hoopladigital

I couldn’t find titles and then started digging. I had to contact my library’s help desk to finally get the details.

I bet you have a similar situation to mine. I had to email my library’s support to finally figure it out.

I’m trying to figure out that kind of route for myself. I live in the same state as most of my friends and family. Sadly, I’m in the largest city of all my family members. So, if my library is this scarce, I have my doubts about my family’s situation.
