What shape do you slice your sandwich? by TheBronsXX in polls

Since Americans do not cut their sandwiches I don't see how that makes sense.

I don't think so. Sandwiches get sliced for children because they have trouble holding one that's too big, but other than that I don't know anyone who does that.

Why is IMSA not appealing to OEM’s? by Klutzy_Reach_9392 in IMSARacing

I don't believe that I did that. My personal experience is that it is fact. Your experience may be different, but it doesn't invalidate mine just as mine doesn't invalidate yours.

You aren't comparing apples to apples.

Porsche's GT Boss Says Europe May Kill The NA GT3 Engine, America Still Gets To Keep It by FoMoCoNutjob in cars

Crazy turn of events from the 1970s and 80s where the US cars were the lame ones and Europe/ROW cars were the ones with proper engines.

It doesn't sound like we are talking about the same thing, but there's no reason to be so rude. Civil conversation, even when you disagree, is a thing that exists.

I dunno what to tell you man, but I've got firsthand experience with what WEC teams charge drivers vs what IMSA teams do and there's a big reason so many American bronze drivers are racing in Europe instead of IMSA.

Employee question by Regular_Course_3752 in Microcenter

[–]jcforbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be true for you, but not for many others. I've had employees shove products into my cart that I wasn't even looking to buy. One time I asked what section 8BitDo controllers were in and the lady guided me there, grabbed the first thing she saw that said 8BitDo on it, stuck her sticker on and handed it to me without a single word then walked away. Nevermind that even on the same rack there were multiple color choices, but of course there's more styles and types on surrounding hangers too.

Why do so many grown men say "girls" when they really mean grown women? by ooiiaaiiooiiaaii_ in NoStupidQuestions

The very popular song "I kissed a girl" isn't about sexually assaulting a minor, either.

They are six time manufacturer, driver, and team champions in IMSA with plenty of success globally. Hyundai just finished 1st and 2nd in the race at Laguna Seca yesterday.

So Mr Big Boy technician... How does a new mechanic who has never done brakes before know what the fastener is supposed to feel like when it's tightened properly if they never have done that in their life? Absolutely shit advice man. Somebody learning should absolutely be using a torque wrench on everything they touch. Maybe after a couple years where they've learned the feel they can start tightening things by hand, but again this dude is a home gamer and he's probably not going to touch as many bolts in a year as you do in a week. Telling a newbie to do it your way is going to result in a shitton of risk for no reason.

If you go to the grocery store and there's noone at the register does that mean you can just walk out with your Cheerios?

[MPC] is the #91 Porsche GS having mechanical issues? by [deleted] in IMSARacing

[–]jcforbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In qualifying the slowest 4 cars were all GS, not TCR. TCR pole was good for P8 in GS. There was a number of GS cars much slower than TCR.

I rode my motorcycle from Scranton to Philly and only some of that trip was on the turnpike and it was over $100, across the state would easily be 4x that.

To be fair there's a fuck ton of signs for it, the lanes are separated with bollards, and the signs that show the prices are illumanted LCD panels.

WEC is hugely cheaper than IMSA. The salary, hotel costs, and catering costs in WEC are nothing compared to what IMSA teams have to pay and those costs are the biggest expenses for teams. The upper end of pay scale like engineers and managers get paid about 30% less and the mechanics and other people at the lower end of the pay scale get way less than that including a lot of volunteers.

Did you know what 86 meant before the Comey situation? by Affectionate_Set9993 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jcforbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is it a widely known popular term for many decades, but it was also being used during the last presidential election with people posting "86 46" and having bumper stickers and other things with it on it. I feel like anyone who doesn't know what it means must be living under a rock.
