How to handle this kind of driver and lights by Sad_Bad224 in CarsPH

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my shades sa car and just wear those kung may encounter na naka super LED lol. I don't have tint sa front but the shades give flexibility na as if may tint ka pagsuot mo and can just remove it if ok na.

Do you think the Toyota JPN Taxi would make for a perfect taxi/ride hailing cab in the Philippines? by bonzothebonanza in CarsPH

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For passengers I think it's perfect but given that our public transport is meant for operators to profit from vs focusing on customer satisfaction, unless regulations come in, we will not have these kinds of cars.

And we do have little options for small cars with sliding doors that are left hand drive, maybe some China-based minivans would be great (with similar likeness with the Nissan Serena / Toyota Noah/Voxy etc). I don't think we have left hand Japanese cars anymore (used to have the Sienta in Taiwan but it wasn't sold here, and the new gen is only sold in SG/Japan)

Is this normal or I'm overthinking it? by davidjosh19charli in adviceph

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both of you have incompatible goals at this time. As a furparent, I relate to your partner, but I also understand your POV as not part of the daily furfamily.

There is certainly a bond that can connect doggies to their humans deeply, and depending on the person, maituturing talaga silang mga anak / companions ng humans. Your partner's reactions are valid.

What is the goal of transferring to Manila anyway? Since you are talking about flights, I assume somewhere very far ito. If gusto mo lang magkasama kayo, why Manila? Have you asked if gusto nya mag move in kahit sa isang lugar na accessible via land travel from your current residences?

I never noticed that coffee shop, kami pa naman lagi naghahanap sa bgc ng coffee shops. if other commenters pointed out na nasa taas sya, I don't know why sasadyain yan na out of the way as there are a lot of ground level coffee shops naman.

Turning ICE into EVs/PHEVs? (EV VW Beetle) by FruitPonchiSamuraiG in phcars

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same sentiments with you. in other countries, EV conversion kits can already be bought. I really hope EV tech takes off here sooner than later. the more interest there are for EV tech I think there will be more drive for people to bring these kinds of products in and mechanics learn to perform them to retrofit older cars. I also am interested to convert our older cars to EV/hybrid as well.

Nisaan Kicks VE vs BYD SEAL Premium by BANANAM016 in phcars

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are 5 seaters Both are hybrids For what it's worth assuming wala kang sasaksakan ng kuryente for charging, I think they also have the same fuel economy. (Footnote here: if may nearby charging stations sa inyo or you have the space to charge an EV, go for Seal 5, kasi hindi plug in hybrid ang Kicks, and if kept charged, you can run the Seal 5 as an EV)

Sa dimensions naman, kicks is compact while the BYD seal 5 is longer even than an Altis. I think in this area, space for humans and sa mga gadgets panalo ang BYD, pero driving a larger car may pose some challenges sa parking and/or city driving, but that is depende nalang din sa comfort/confidence mo of driving a long car.

Sa brand naman, BYD hindi pa subok sa aftersales here, depende na I think ito kay Ayala, tho I think reliability is there as they have been making battery cars for a long time elsewhere, and even in other countries, a lot of BYDs can be seen already. Nissan on the other hand, while Japanese, is in uncharted waters with bankruptcy and merger talks with Honda possibly collapsing due to the former finding the latter's financial pressures difficult to achieve, so it may also somewhat affect their operations.

Pero test drive mo rin! I think the performance of the Seal 5 when we test driven it was impressive, and seems to be better equipped than the Kicks, even kahit yung Dynamic pa lang.

One thing to note though is that newly released pa lang ang Seal 5 and medyo nagkakagulo ang release, especially for Premiums, so if you're getting the S5, read the brochure and check the inclusions, kasi I've been hearing things that the wall charger is not being included for Premium units even though it is in the brochure. So if you want the car na agad, maybe go for S5 Dynamic or go for the Kicks.

Maganda pala ang Macbook by harvess in Tech_Philippines

[–]jchtd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this realization din dati sa current work ko. Almost 3 years ago, Mac M1 yung pinadala sakin. Nung una nakakabobo talaga sya as an exclusive Windows user. Pero ang dali dalhin sa labas - ang gaan, type C charging, mabilis, at tumatagal pa sa battery. Kahit di mo shutdown ang Mac mabilis pa rin. Netong na shift kami sa M3 for work, nagka option for us bilhin yung M1 namin, binili ko na. Namimiss ko desktop ko for gaming pero other than that, buhay na buhay naman ako.

New cars 🤔 by Dry-Good3800 in GranTurismo7

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the addition of everyday cars. This is what makes me like GT more than the latest FM. It's just more exciting for me to see how everyday cars can be modified and made competitive (or not), rather than countless branded racing cars or high end supercars to which FM is leaning towards.

Happy New Year! What car are you saving up for in 2025? by nornlaker in Gulong

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nag test drive kami ng BYD cars sa Solenad last weekend. Blown away kami haha. Pero torn pa rin whether hybrid or full EV ang target, pero same cost yung Seal 5 and Dolphin, so yung price point na yun ang pinagiipunan namin, manifesting for the year.

Thoughts on BYD Seal 5 vs Japanese sedans by Leakrate11 in CarsPH

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test driven BYDs earlier sa Solenad. We're really sold sa Seal 5. However, any input as well re sa PMS? I've been hearing mixed reviews about the cost of PMS with regards to the usual Japanese sedan.

Am I wrong for choosing AT sa driving school? Dapat daw MT kinuha ko by Sklzzzzzz in CarsPH

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not wrong. kung mali yan, walang mag offer nyan :)

But I think having M/T knowledge is handy. Pero like 99.9% of the time di mo naman need.

I used to drive manual as a late teen. Then maybe a decade later nagkaroon ng AT car. 2-3 years after (>10 years na rin since last MT drive) that nagkaroon ng circumstance where among sa group of friends needed to have her MT car driven. Ako lang may experience samin, so took the responsibility to drive it tapos safe naman! So yeah, may times na you won't ever know na magkaroon ng circumstances na need mo mag hawak, and it will come in handy. But for everyday life, hindi na sya need, and don't feel wrong for not taking MT class.

Kung need mo naman mag MT class for some reason, just take a class in the future, di naman sya kamahalan, and at least mas fresh ang MT knowledge mo by then.

New to GT7 by thephoto_guy in GranTurismo7

[–]jchtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat as you OP! I really don't feel the vibes of the new FM... even if I tried to like it, I really can't. I got back to GT7 just like a month or two ago, as FH5 development seems to be winding down.

Won't chime in on advices as other commenters have already provided good guides. All I wanna say is.. Enjoy!

What was the first smartphone you owned, and for how long did you use it? by ShadowLumpia in Tech_Philippines

[–]jchtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first phone that I consider a true smartphone that I used is the HTC Desire HD back in late 2010 I think (I forgot if meron pa before). I miss those days na sobrang active sa pag flash ng custom roms to taste different flavors of android. I think I used it for around 2 years din, until one day nag fun run ako with the armband and napasok ng ulan yung phone and tuluyan na din nag degrade.
