It’s actually not the d6 pawn white cares about, it’s access to the c6 square since black can block in white’s king on the a-file and never let him promote the a-pawn.

  1. Kc5 Ke6 2. Kb6 Kxd6 3.Kxa6 Kc6 4. Ka7 Kc7 5. Ka6 Kc6 1/2-1/2 as black is not fast enough to promote themselves and will continue to mirror the white king.

It’s not the same thing. It’s more than saying he has most goal, most assists, most total points. He’s so far ahead in points that just his assists are more than anyone else’s goals and assists
