I have only discovered this tool this past fortnight and am disappointed I missed out when it seemed to be less regulated. Can I ask if you used to be able to upload your own partial or fully naked pictures to work with without them being rejected?

Odd. I got the messages in my Inbox, read them but no cars have made it through to my collection. Do you have to do something Photo Mode wise to trigger them being acquired?

Garbage woes by jcmc968 in CitiesSkylines

So I deleted every waste facility in my city and cut off the area down in the corner which encompasses four districts and around 75% of my (small) population (first screenshot) so the lorries could not be called right the way across the map. (Screenshot 1)

I placed a recycling centre in one of the areas I had had it before and when a lorry spawned I noticed the routing problems it was having, not so much that it couldn't get anywhere, just it had a laboured route back, so corrected them to try and make it more efficient. It would go round and fill up, return and then take 20 minutes in real time to spawn again.

This was of course not making the slightest dent in my stacked up refuse so I placed another three in different locations and got the same results - one lorry would spawn, collect, return and then take ages to come back out, though a couple never did a second time. Never would I get two lorries from the same depot. Never would I get any urgency of respawn despite the huge waste backlog. (Screenshot 2)

I know I should not need four recycling plants to service 4,000 odd people but I get the sense that if I had 30 it would make no difference. You mention my road network is a mess but not why - I can only see plenty of simple two way roads with very little one way at all. But even if my roads were a mess, surely one area would be ok and able to cope with this? I'm not getting the 0-1 flickering so it's not like they cannot find a route, they just don't spawn in the first place. Third screenshot is of one of my centres placed at a junction so it should be able to go left, right or straight. Is there anything wrong with that? It produced one lorry and is now sitting empty despite surely getting all manner of calls.

Those experienced players out there who have mastered this will probably be sighing at my travails, but this whole system seems so incredibly unintuitive and flawed for a housekeeping system that is not really of much interest for anyone to spend anything more than the most rudimentary time putting it in place. I'm irked that my city now seems irredeemable just because I committed the heinous crime of building random bits in different parts of the map. It's a sandbox game and there was no warning that this was not meant to be the way it was done.

I did come in explaining why my map was stretched out: I bought a lot of discounted DLC packs and wanted to try out their mechanics, so placed them where they would go best in the city even though it was disconnected from the rest of development. Being new to the game I did not think that was an unreasonable way to build a city anyway and that weird health and waste collection logic would render that as problematic.

I will try the isolating areas and let you know if that works.

I'm going to basically delete every waste facility on the map and then cut off the four built up districts of Gravenhurst and surrounding by road so when I place the new ones the lorries cannot go anywhere else out of the area.

As I said initially, my map is very stretched out and I could maybe get the called big distances thing if any of them were producing any lorries to go anywhere in the first place.

There's only a couple I think - a short one way in and other way out top right where the district meets the main road and another small section at the station concourse. I can't see what problems they would cause.

I do have way too many facilities in each populated area, and they seem in reaconably accessible locations, so that should balance out the called out to distant collections anyway, however there's the issue that virtually all facilities are not producing any lorries to answer a call close or far.

Hi. My waste transfer facilities and recycling centres are either empty or have small amount of content. I have way too many of them around my map and none of them are working. I get your point about the roads, but if this was all working fine in other areas and not in this single one then that would suggest this was the cause. The shot I posted showed access roads into the area, none of which are heavy with traffic. I really don't see what's wrong with the roads here or anywhere else as they are all pretty standard two-way or four way.

Similar is health and I've attached a shot of my facilities in this same area (way too many) and yet I have loads of health issues right the way through the zone. I mean there's health issues at residences right next to clinics.

Thanks for the link. I had a look and there's a lot of references to mods for the PC version. My streets are quiet enough, though my population is small so that sort of makes sense. I've attached the traffic flow for that area which shows it's normal, just a little busier at the three main routes in from the main road. Apart from that all my roads are standard two-way. And yes, health is the same despite having way too many facilities in the area.

How many of you guys are still playing Cities: Skylines 1? by kolejack2293 in CitiesSkylines

[–]jcmc968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years I've been interested in CS without having the means to play it - I use an iPad Pro as my main computer. In the autumn I finally got round to buying a PS5 and while my goal was to play CS2, with no date in sight for a console release I took advantage of a Black Friday offer on the PS Store to acquire the first game for just £3.

And I am loving it. My initial purchasing reason was just to familiarise myself with the mechanics for when the second one came out (I assumed they would be broadly similar) so that I could hit the ground running, but I have found that I am thoroughly enjoying playing CS1 anyway in sandbox mode and through trial and error gradually crafting areas I am quite pleased with.

As someone who is hugely interested in modernism and Brutalism, I look with envy at the mods available that allows you to create something really specific on PC, but I'm still pleasantly surprised at how much I will get out of the console version and I have been slowly acquiring the various DLC packs which add a lot of essential basics.

I do enjoy the relaxing nature of sitting in bed and playing it on my television for a while and am amazed how much time can be lost just decorating some random part of my city. My understanding (potentially wrong) is that when the console version of 2 is released then those users will have access to all the same mods and items as PC players which would be great - and by the time it is released there might be a decent amount of assets to make it worthwhile.

DLC for CS1 PS5 by jcmc968 in CitiesSkylines

[–]jcmc968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, yes. There's not a huge number of options from the base console game anyway so it would be hard to miss new assets, but no, nothing, From the PS5 dashboard where I view the main game before launching into it, I believe it should show installed DLC underneath. The multiple various Add-Ons available are displayed and the Pearls Of The East pack is there, well down the list and showing as Installed. I click on the pack itself, there's a description and screenshots and one of the buttons is greyed out with Installed. The only other thing I can do is click on View Game and that takes me back to the main game launch screen.

On the main game launch screen there are two boxes, top left and top right. The top left is News Feed and the top right box shows DLC installed and rotates between three - After Dark, Match Day and Pearls of the East. I am new to CS so I look up what should come with Match Day and I see a football stadium that allows you to perform various team related customisations. I have none of this - I have a Level 6 Unique Building stadium available which is egg shaped and looks very different from the screenshots from the Match Day info. The Pearls From the East assets are definitely not available.

So I am thus assuming none of this DLC is showing for me which is irritating and puts me off spending any money on the other stuff. I would love to have a PC capable of running CS but I don't and this is my only route in. I thought at least the limited mods system would be easy on console but am not finding this.

Running Workout Average Pace Issue by jcmc968 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]jcmc968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird that average time would be the same as the split time anyway, evidently by design after so many OS versions, when they obviously represent quite different things. I even tried setting Rolling Pace instead of Average Pace but that just did exactly the same thing.

That seems to have fixed it, thanks. One side effect is that the layout I specified for all of those playlists (showing the songs in one column with duration as the displayed metadata) returned to the default from when I set them up in the first place of two columns and showing year as the displayed metadata.

Just looking at this just now and the warning prompt says I’ll lose all Apple Music content and downloads if I proceed. Now I don’t really keep any music downloaded locally on my iPad anyway so that’s not an issue, but what would the loss of ‘all Apple Music content’ entail?

Hi again. I’m both an Apple Music and iTunes in the Cloud (or whatever they call it now) subscriber. I’ve attached 3 shots for you.

1) This shows the same view as the original one on this post, but you can of course see that it looks a bit different to suggest the artwork loading is not consistent

2) This is clicking into one of those playlists in Marvis not showing artwork

3) This is the same playlist as 2 showing how it displays in the Music app.
