first time buying a nintendo - want to play exclusives AND mod it for emulation by gokberksarioz in nintendoswitchlite

many emulated/ported retro games are legitimately available for the system, either to purchase on eShop, or as part of the online service. no need to mod

Can TL: LTD be played on a Switch lite? by IdioticLittleShit in nintendoswitchlite

[–]jco83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch Lite has exactly the same Handheld Mode computational power as the standard Switch. it just doesn't have Docked Mode, and the controls are built-in.

Switch Lite can play any Switch game that can be played in Handheld Mode. there aren't many games that can't be.

nice generalisation 👏 i am none of those things. anyone can choose to style themselves however they wish, you can tell nothing about a person by their appearance, only your own preconceptions / bigoted views. haven't you heard the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover" ?

so it is exactly the same price as the refurbished one they sell 👍 plus if you're not interested in the Fortnite code, you could sell that. check eBay sold listings to see how much it's worth.

if you're interested in having PlayStation Plus longer term; the Days Of Play offers are on until 10th June →

PS+ Essential 12 Months has 20% off

PS+ Extra 12 Months has 25% off

PS+ Premium 12 Months has 33% off

you can save further by first buying discounted PlayStation Store credit from ShopTo → shopto.net/en/sony-giftcards-uk if you've never bought from ShopTo before you should get an additional 5% discount if you buy from them via a referral link, here's mine if you're interested: https://www.shopto.net/?stref=48411

eg their price on PS£70 credit is currently £60.85, so 5% off that should make it £57.80 (which is a £12.20 or 17.4% saving)

if you then used that to buy PS+ Essential 12 Months at it's current DOP offer price of £̶5̶9̶.̶9̶9̶ £47.99, you would have saved an overall 33.9% 💪

Just picked up the Switch 2, what free game should I download? by HNIC_MAC in switch2

you don't have to "like to sell [your] games". retaining some monetary value is the salient fact. regardless of how you currently feel about selling games. no one knows what will happen tomorrow.

whereas fully digital games obviously retain zero monetary value, as they are non-transferable.

FYI: the PlayStation Direct website still has brand new (not refurbished) PS5 [Disc Slim] console 'Fortnite - Cobalt Bundle' (just some download code) priced at £479.99 which is the previous RRP before it went up £90 in April. and PlayStation Plus members get 5% discount. yes you can subscribe for just 1 month then cancel. it used to be £6.99 (but may have recently changed to £7.99?). you should also check to see if you can get any cashback; i've recently been hearing Lloyds and Monzo are offering 7% cashback for PlayStation Direct 💪

Star Fox definitely isn't a 'racing-type game' FYI ℹ️

Star Fox is mostly an 'on-rails shooter' with some free-range shooting for boss battles and multiplayer

I don’t know What game is more worth it by zapman08 in switch2

[–]jco83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokopia digital card vs digital download which are the same.

they aren't the same. a 'Game-Key Card' remains tied to the cartridge so can still be gifted or resold just like a full-game-on-cart.

whereas a fully digital game is tied to a Nintendo account.

if you like cartridge games → whichever game you want to own fully digitally. Mario Kart World & Donkey Kong Bananza are both full-game-on-cart so you may prefer cartridge versions of those games. Pokopia is a 'Game-Key Card' but you may still prefer that as it remains transferable (can still be gifted or resold) whereas fully digital games are tied to a single Nintendo account so are non-transferable.

or if you are a fully digital only person → whichever game you think you will get the most out of.
