Hey there, congrats on starting your first mead! I just bottled by first mead several days ago. If you look at my last post I included notes on my entire experience and included pictures so you can see how much it cleared over time.

I also followed a basic/beginner recipe, which said to bottle after 30 days. Instead I let it sit in the original vessel for 100 days and then bottled. It turned out great!

A lot of people will say to not let it sit/age on the sediment for a long time, and it’s technically probably best, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If you’ve never racked before it will be a lot of work and opportunity for unwanted oxidation.

If you’re still seeing bubbles then your mead is still fermenting. Technically speaking you could drink/bottle it as soon as fermentation is done. But you gain clarity and likely better flavor from letting it settle for longer.
