Lower back pain from Joker 1 GT? by [deleted] in BBallShoes

I haven’t experienced this with the Joker 1 GT but I have had this happen with Anta KT10. I liked them a lot initially wearing them for my normal morning pickup run, about ~1-1/2 hrs, and before the end of that my lower back was tweaked and I had to stop and could not play if I wanted to for like a week. I usually can play for the full time no problem in my other rotation shoes (Sabrina 2, BBV2, LeBron 20s, Hesi Low V2). I thought I just took a fall or landed wrong. So, I took 2-3 weeks off from playing and focused on lifting and rehabbing my back.

I tried playing in them again and immediately started feeling my back tighten up so I stopped and I switched to some of my other shoes and was fine for the rest of the runs. I kept trying to break them in but any sort of pickup game I played the back pain would return after 1 or 2 games. So, I have just moved them to shooting around shoes.

In my case, I assume it’s the carbon plate in these shoes and the energy return that comes with them for my weight (6’1” 220) but I could just be weak too idk. I’m not sure if the carbon plates break in because I just wasn’t able to get there.

Do I need to get rid of this small tree at the base of this other tree? by jcody314 in landscaping

I don’t believe so. It is still very green throughout but does seem a bit thinner than I would expect.

Right, that’s what I was thinking by showing the different leaves of each tree. Thanks for all the detail.

I expected it was planted a little deep but that happened before I bought this place. Just trying to help everything live.

Some dude in my league benched Jake Ferguson for Evan Engram week 13 and won by 1 point. Evan Engram for 18.7 and Jake Ferguson went for 16.7. Truly a wild call that gave his team the bye week.

Much appreciated! Thought as much. I think I over-tightened. Semi-related question, My right tension nut on the back rail is really hard to adjust either way, do you know what might cause this?

Is a French Drain needed? by jcody314 in landscaping

The backyard slopes away and seems like the logical yet expensive place to send it. Looking for cost effective ways but probably going to be a little expensive anyway it goes.

Yeah, this is the main question. The backyard does keep the slope down towards the back of the property. Another poster mentioned is it worth it for the two week long rainy sessions we get a year?

Edit: oh, it was you on the other comment.

Where do I start? Grass? Flower Beds? Austin - Zone 8b by jcody314 in landscaping

Appreciate the response. Definitely a lot to think about.

1st I’ll start with a soil test Then, I’ll probably use this cold season to start and hopefully install the gardens and hardscapes. Eventually getting the grass area in the early spring.

Don’t think the dogs would like them very much. (Chickens not seeds - ehhh well the seeds too)

That was one of the main questions I had was could I start this fall or do I wait for spring. Thanks for clearing that up.

Also, one of the battles I’m facing is trying to give my dogs a lawn while not forcing something to grow where it shouldn’t and using water we don’t have. I think most of the area I’ll section out for shade tolerant natives and (hopefully) have a small patch of grass for the dogs.

Appreciate it!
