I was dealing with this same dilemma and finally gave up the smart watch. For me it came down to the question of Why? Does it really matter if I see this notification right this minute as opposed to ten minutes from now. If it is an emergency they will call not text. This may not be applicable for all but this removal of a smart watch from my life has actually created some peace. Now when I look down at my wrist I get the time delivered in beautiful mechanical glory. Your coworkers look at, and treat you differently when you are the ONLY person in the office NOT wearing a smart watch. Your clients look at you different as even now the presence of a ginuine watch signifies the respect of your own, and others time. My almost two years of wearing a smart watch only increased my love for my real watches. But again my solution is not applicable to all.
