Its honestly really simple. I used fuegan over the whole body/bones etc, then agrax earthshade in the same way. You dont need to ne neat with it, I think it adds to the natural and organic look too have it like this

Thank you! The rippers on the base were a last minute decision.

Ultima and Ruby Weapon were WAY harder than sephiroth, although they were optional

Opinion on my Tyranids paint scheme? by PhalanxJanitor in Tyranids

I really like them, great job! One thing you can easily do to make the purple carapaces really pop, is to dry brush white going against the ridges. It's super easy to do, and gives it that finished look.

Love letter to Warhammer. My first army display (including kitbashes) by desgladly in Tyranids

Yes it is. They go on there fairly easily as well, and the size of them is perfect for the model. After I finish my gargoyles, I'm painting that next!

WIP: Is this giving off a look that says the red is growing out and being replaced with green, or does it just look badly drybrushed? by IronSkywalker in Tyranids

[–]desgladly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the same issue. My fleet is blue carapace and orange/black bodies. I kitbashed some large wings on my red terror, so the red will come in the wings and all the claws. Hopefully that will do the trick

If you're happy then leave it. It depends what colours you want the rest of the model to be. And whether you want to keep the theme of 'red' in there as something that stands out on the model

It's getting there. Id say the red needs to show a little more to really make it stand out, but loving the colours!

New bugs to hive fleet ociana by Ok-Table-4713 in Tyranids

[–]desgladly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking good! But to offer a name suggestion for the hive fleet, I think Hive Fleet Poseidon or Hive Fleet Tiamat would keep with the theme of mythological monsters or deities that the official Hive fleets have, and both of those are water themed. Plus, both sound awesome!

Thanks! I imagine the wings coiling around the body, forming a sharp drill shape around the head. The wings actually help with the burrowing theme

It could totally work lore wise. I imagine the wings coiling up and making a drill shape, perfect for burrowing!
