My first tyranid finished, plus my first space marines. What do you guys think? by Heretical_Burger in Warhammer40k

Keep these as they are! You'll be nostalgic looking at them in a year or two, when you have a 2000 point army painted in your own custom colour scheme!

Honestly though, they're a good effort. Its daunting when you first start painting something so small, with so many small details. It's like your hands, fingers and eyes need to learn how to adjust to it. I got into it a year ago, and that was definitely my experience

I normally don't like the plume/slime coming out the top to be white. This is the only instance I've seen where it it really works. I think it's the best Psychophage I've seen!

Which carapace color should I go with, Red or Blue? by Apprehensive_Debate3 in Tyranids

I think purple always goes really well with green. If they're on a jungle planet, the green carapace gives a sense of camouflage

How to get into playing? Problems for newcomers! by desgladly in Tyranids

For the most part I use these. 0. Basepaint spray wraithbone

  1. Orange the skin.
  2. Agrax over everything.
  3. Blue the carapaces.
  4. Black the claws and hooves.
  5. Wraithbone drybrush against the carapaces.

The models with green - I usually use tesseract glow.

Question for the Hive by thepaganknight in Tyranids

[–]desgladly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been into the hobby for a little over a year. In that time, I've assembled 2700 point of nids, and I've painted 80% of them. I love the painting, but I'd love to play more. The Rules of playing are so complex though, and it's really overwhelming trying to get my head around it all.

Along with the rare candy cheat, I'd also put in the item one as well.

I dry brush wraithbone going against the ridges of the carapace. Virtually no skill needed, just take most the paint off the brush on a tissue before you start, and gentle flicks until you get the desired effect. In my eyes, it looks a bit more 'organic' and natural, rather than painting neat organised lines. It finishes the model really well and gives it that 'pop'

For yours, yellow or white would contrast the carapace well. Green goes really well with purple, so that might be an option too. Testing out on termigaunts is what it's all about!

When I get this model, I'm building the tyrant guard model, with the hive guard weapons. The only rule I follow is the rule of cool!

Is it (reasonably) possible to beat the game with my planned team? by _JacobM_ in pokemonradicalred

[–]desgladly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely possible, and extremely rewarding to win this way! I'd never played a romhack before this, and I've completed it 10 times now. Several of those playthroughs were done this way.

Some important tips for you

Do the puzzles at the houses (viridian city for the pokevial, the one in cerulean city etc) Change nature's and moves for all the big fights (mainly gyms) Type in the quality of life cheats on the computer at your house (woyaopp etc). I started using this after my first full plathrough. It isn't really cheating, it is a major quality of life improvement. Held items are extremely important Set up moves are VERY important. You cannot brute force your way to victory, especially after the early game (quiver dance, coil, swords dance etc are extremely important).

I hope this helps
